Outside influences aren't always easy to change, so even if you want to change your future, it's not always possible.

Is it really that difficult? Even if it was as small as say a disagreement?

Not all disagreements are small.

Besides; it's not assured your actions would have the result you desire. You could make circumstances worse for yourself. That's not at all unheard of.

I'm aware of the potential risks. Still, I was hoping it was at least possible despite the dangers. I just don't like what my future holds for me.

You take my words to mean that it's not possible?

You have regrets?

No, no...! Well, actually... you do make it seem as though it could never be possible.

Mm, just a few.

On the contrary, I think it's possible. I simply don't think it's possible in the manner that most would perhaps envisage.

That's unfortunate.

Mm. I guess I'm being optimistic in thinking it would change things for the better or in my favor.

I'm sure there are reasons, but I can't wrap my head around it at the moment.

It's certainly optimistic, but there's no reason to fault anyone for being optimistic.

There are always reasons.

Isn't there something you've always wanted to change in your past?

Yes, there is.

So then you can understand how I feel, right?

I imagine not. The things I would change are not my events to change even if it were possible to. They aren't my regrets to carry.

I want to be able to think the same as you right now. You sound very resolved on this. To accept matters the way they are and hold no regrets to the fact that it happened.

...

The past can't be changed - and neither can the future. The present is the only thing that ever changes. I don't believe being distracted with the past or the future to any great extent to be of any value. To do so would mean that, ultimately, nothing would change.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it.

I guess what you're trying to tell me is to simply not worry and do whatever it is I'd normally do back at home, yes?
