The adventure continues...
We now have a new house to live in (the one right next door to the MIL and her husband (which is a good thing, we get along with her great!)) The house is frickin' HUGE! Way bigger than anything I've ever lived in before, so I get to start thinking about furniture and fittings in a way that I haven't thought about before. Fun, fun, fun.
New job is slowly coming together. We're starting a family business (MIL's husband and me) so the close proximity of our residences will make that easier. I always wanted to work from home (if I have an all day, inside paperwork day, I could do it in my Spider-man jammies...not that I own such a thing *ahem*) If all goes well, the basement will be turned into an office for me, which is very cool.
Still getting used to change in weather (i.e. it's HOT!) Course I spoke with a buddy back in the UK this morning and he said they're getting their own heat wave now. Figures! I leave and England gets decent weather and Spinal Tap at Wembly. Frickin' country!
Our stuff arrived from England last Wednesday. This is good. Unfortunately , my TV stand (which was very expensive from Next and was a match to my sideboard) was lost. They also lost a box labeled "books/linens" but they wrote that on several boxes that did contain either...so who knows what was in it. I figure sometime in the next year or so I'll have the desire to fetch something I own...not be able to find it...and have to chalk it up the box that went missing. The missus and I had a similar experience in the UK as the post office lost a box of DVDs we sent out just before moving. So we'd have this thing where we say "hey, you want to watch "...and then not be able to find it. "I guess it was in THAT BOX" *sigh* I hate losing stuff. That's not very Zen but when I want to watch the The Goodbye Girl (which I know I have) and then can't because I don't have it...you get the idea.
