More good news!

Well, I went to sleep at about 9pm lastnight and woke up at 12ish -- what did i do with my night, you might ask?

As a matter of fact, i spent it mixing down the X-Eidolon songs. OH MY FUCKING GOD! Addiction is almost done, I want to re-record Scott's bass, find a good effect for Brandy's voice (maybe another take or two for her vocals), get Rob's guitars recorded, then we'll be finished with it. What we have sounds really good too.

Days of Future Past. It's clear as a bell! A little too clear on the drums... you can hear Rob singing his lyrics on Lori's track. I think i'd like to re-record the drums, I did an ass-poor job of recording 'em. The snare needs to be brighter and panned, the cymbols drown out the drums at certain points. But it still sounds really good, I added a gated reverb onto the drums, so it cuts the cymbols down. We could do better, tho.

Phase 7... So, we redid this song... it's shorter, better quality and while we were recording Brandy's vocals, we came up with a new vocal part for her. Well, I mixed this stuff down a bit and there's one part that's too perfect! Brandy sings "search again" and i added a delay and good eq, then doubled up the track and panned 'em both. It sounds like a pro did it, in my humble opinion. It sounds so good that it puts the rest of the song to shame... just that one lyric... "search again" and the rest of the song is just a shadow in comparison.

Then, after we get Scott and Brandy done on vocals for Phase 7, we'll be ready to get Rob's guitars goin and i wanted to experiment with some analogue synth placement.
But everything sounds great.
