"Good news, everybody"
--Professor Farnsworth (Futurama)
Well, I've re-recorded Phase 7 and am very happy with the results. The main synth and drums are on separate tracks, I meticulously tweeked all tracks before recording so they are prolly as close to perfect as I can get them, which isn't to say someone else couldn't do better... I'm no audio engineer. =)
It was cut from 7 minutes 12 seconds down to 5 minutes 44 seconds... that's pretty damn close to a minute and a half gone. My gay sample experiment is totally gone, there's the intro and outro sample and then the stuff to cue the start of vocals, but the cues will prolly be removed once we have the vocals laid down. I've done a pre-mix so that the levels between the existing tracks are smooth -- you can hear the soft strings in the beginning, the bass isn't distorted or dampening the bassy synth.
Once we have everything recorded, I was thinking of trying a couple of experiments with a secondary drum track and the electribe (I'm excited to use the thing now). SO, we need to record the vocals (Scott and Brandy, please report the main office) and the guitars (Rob, please pick up the nearest white curtesy phone).
Next up on my plate: Working on "Bumps" for the Langen Neubacher Band, which i should hopefully have done by tonight, then might screw around with addiction, tho I don't know what I would do to that... except try to mix it down a bit better. Oh, I have a better mix down of Days... but that's nothing new.
And that's been my day so far.
