Me against the world

Yesterday I was met with the strongest video games-based bitterness I have ever experienced. Five people all willing me to lose in every game I participated in. And why? Because I am allegedly a bad winner. Oddly, it never occurred to them that this sort of behaviour might come from a bloated ego, which the attitude of treating me like a force to be reckoned with by both in-game and physically ganging up on me is only going to exacerbate. As a result of this, I must say, despite making clear efforts to toe the line and not shoot too far ahead, I fucking trashed you all at everything. Get it firmly up yeiz.

I'm actually not that good at proper gaming; I just have the coordination that it takes to win at most Wii party games. It's at times like these that I miss hanging out with people who'll play real games more often.

So, yeah, yesterday afternoon was a lot of fun. Loli & Allie came over for me about 2pm and we went up to Christy's to join in their post-scenery-making hang-outage. I grabbed my Wii-quipment and we began with Thrillville: Off The Rails. While Loli, Christy, Calum and I were at that, Alison was busy teaching Martin how to play ukelele. She made a ten minute video of us while she was at it.

Martin got frustrated part way through a game of Sonic Wildfire, so Allie stepped in and introduced a measure of challenge to the equation. Very early on she decided she would tackle me out of the blue and wrestle my Wiimote from me so I couldn't win one of the mini-games. No matter how much I tickled her, she wouldn't give up! I then got tickled tae hell by Loli, who didn't realise that the Wiimote was no longer in my possession. Thereafter the activity remained (mostly) in game.

Brawl was up next, whereupon Loli & Allie made a brief exit to the Spar. Christy had some martial art thing on in the evening, so pretty much as soon as they returned, it was time to go. I gave Martin & Allie a lift home (I missed the turn off for Martin's place, so had to make a very fun, but very illegal, manoeuvre to get back on track).

A while after dinner, Loli & I went for a wee walk and I bought us Callipo's from the Spar, because I was a-cravin' 'em. Didn't taste the same as I recall from my childhood, but still good.

Today has been mighty boring. Tomorrow should be good because it's Allie's birthday night out in the Jimmy and then Red. Gonna do my darnedest to keep her from getting drunk.
