It's been one heck of a sleepless weekend. Actually, last friday's been too sleepless already. Hello papers. I don't know why, but this sem, I was asked to do my autobiography twice, for two different psychology subjects.
The sad part is, I only have time to do my papers the night before because there's just been too much stuff that's due earlier. So I did my autopbiography on thursday night, slept for 30 minutes, dropped by Starbuck's and bought a venti Iced Caramel Macchiato to wake me up, was hyper the whole day, did field work from 10pm and went home at 1am, crashed and had to forcefully wake up at 10am (which was already late) to go to Tagaytay with my Abnormal Psychology groupmates. We even had a little problem going there (raar flat tire i hate it). This is the rehabiliation center that we visited. It used to be an old hotel. We interviewed the rehab director, and found out lots of things about how they run rehabs *insert Amy Winehouse song here* and the therapies that they do in order to get substance abusing- residents in shape. I'm too hopeful for these people; it's so ahrd to do away with something addicting, so the fact that they accept admittance here means they're willing to change. I guess I've developed a soft spot for psychologically- ill people after taking a course in Abnormal Psychology. haha. But really. Being a psychologist helps you understand people better and become more considerate (cheesy haha).
We tried light- painting after touring the place. First time to try it! Thank you for teaching it to me, friends! haha. I now know which settings to use on my dSLR (actually, i'm not removing these settings again. EVER. haha.).
After tagaytay, I had to go to my groupmate's house for his bday karaoke party/ field paper slumber party. WILD. we just sang the whole night to OPM and cheesy songs. I think we were able to do parts of the paper, though we slept at around 5am and woke up at around 7am. ah, the life of a researcher. full of uncertainities regarding one's sleeping habits. I so want this paper to be done already. Field work could get kinda tiring, especially if you have to do it at night the wee hours of the morning. it's fun and all, but the process of gathering, collating, and analysing data is just one big, massive effort on our part (not much on my part. boo. i feel like such a social loafer at times). but anyway, the hellest of hell week's next week, and that just means that sem break is just around the corner.
this non- stop, no- sleep weekend activity still makes me sleepy until today, tuesday. i was supposed to take a nap last night and wake up at around 10pm but instead, woke up at 7am. hahaha. all of my subjects' final exam (with the exception of Field Psych and Archaeology) will happen next week, and i think i need more than a month to prepare for it. haha. inception please. :)))
