A very happy new year and best wishes of health, happiness & success for 2011 to you folks ♥ ♥ ♥
Stolen from
schemingreader How many books read in 2010?
39 actual books I could hold in my hand; plus about ten books of online fiction I'd say; so roughly fifty.
Fiction/Non-Fiction ratio?
Err, well 50 to about one half of a non fiction book (which I do plan to get back from the public library to finish, maybe!). Not a big non fiction reader there ^^
Male/Female authors?
9 to 30 (not counting online novels since I didn't really keep track of them); my reading of female authors sort of exploded with my going for original slash novels in majority ^^
Favorite books read?
As previously mentioned, either Cyteen by CJ Cherryh or First Agains the Wall by Manna Francis. Honorable mention to Wicked Gentleman by Ginn Hale, and 40,000 for Gehenna by CJ Cherryh.
Least favorite?
Hmm some of those original slash novels were just corny and cheesy enough for me to be a bit ashamed to mention them. Tomb of the God King by Julia Talbot would be the worse I'd say.
Oldest book read?
I'm not really sure...lemme check Cherryh's Merchanter's Luck is from '82; Hillerman's Talking God's '84; MacAvoy's Damiano's '83; Bradley's The Catch Trap's '79.
The Catch Trap it is.
Newest?
Cherryh's Regenesis and Bakker's The Judging Eye are both from 2009, and since I didn't read anything in Hardcover I think that'll be it.
Longest book title?
I think this one again belongs to First Against the Wall
Shortest title?
And this goes to Hero by Perry Moore with only four letters!
How many re-reads?
4 books + the whole of The Administration series by Manna Francis which I read twice in three months (and which roughly count for 6 novels in publication); so 10!
Most books read by one author this year?
Another one for Manna Francis due to the above.
Any in translation?
Nope.
How many of this year's books were from the library?
Only that one half of a non fiction book, and a couple of other books I started but didn't get much further in. Plus some manga/BDs which I'm not counting for the purpose of this meme anyway.
Book that most changed my perspective:
*blank look* errrr
Favorite character:
Belimai from Wicked Gentleman.
Favorite scene:
No clue, I hate those sort of questions.
Favorite quote:
Ditto.
Most inspirational in terms of own writing?
LOL I haven't written anything in two years.
How many you'd actually read again?
13 books about. (Some of which I already have).
