Prompts, hmm, would love to see more of your Sherlock and John in the D/s universe. A family scenario because I'd love to see what dynamics the rest of Sherlock's family have and the affect that has on Sherlock and John.
Saying that Sherlock is secretly an incubus would be highly amusing as well particularly given his innate distaste for sex.
I third this. D/S is one of my few squicks and the SGA versions of the same trope have left me cold, but your interpretation has left a probably lasting impression.

Fourthed!
I must be unusual fir this following - I AM a total kink (in fact, I'm a bondage/fetish model), and while not really a lifestyler, I definitely get up to some fun times. Haven't seen anything this good with the BDSM twist since Jacqueline Carey did her two Kusheline trilogies.
Sherlock/Discworld crossovers! Sherlock and Granny having a conversation about bees, it would be hilarious (from very far away) and/or John meeting the Librarian, or Mycroft meeting first Vimes and Carrot and then commiserating with Vetinari how hard it is to rule.
warning: contains even more crack that I thought was possibleladyofthelogJanuary 22 2011, 12:22:38 UTC
Vampire Sherlock is indeed cracky. And much fun.
Here are some random prompts (and some may be too obscure): - Sherlock/Newford crossover. I'd particularly love it if John was a student of Ruskin and brought Sherlock to life through his painting. Bonus for evil doppelganger Sherlock! (I totally just started writing this, TAKING IT BACK ;) ) - Sherlock/Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This could go so many ways. I'd kind of like an AU where girl!John is Buffy and has been sidelined by injury, so Faith has to take over. Sherlock is Faith's new watcher. Moriarty is... Angelus? - Sherlock/American Gods. John is Shadow. Sherlock is a new god. Mycroft, of course, is an older one. - Sherlock is a selkie? - Weird fairy tale shit. - A Sherlock/The City & The City crossover would also not go amiss.

"That really isn't how it's supposed to work," Mycroft tells him the first time, because it really isn't how it's supposed to work.
"We don't obey any of the natural laws," Sherlock merely says flippantly, steepling his fingers together and giving the television a thoughtful stare. "There's no need to go about following the undetectable ones too."
--
"We don't create the legends," Mycroft tells him when Sherlock picks up the phone to dial Lestrade. "We just live them. They believe, and we embody."
But that's not true, not really. Not here, not in the city where light pollution makes the stars wink out every night. Not where one muse, one thought, one companion can reach thousands upon thousands of people.
"No, I don't think so," he says, because this isn't the Old World anymore. Because he's never known the world he sees in the others' eyes -- of fear and darkness and monsters in the night. "I think you can change it."
--
"He hasn't got friends.""You can't," he says, but Moriarty -- and Moriarty glows in his mind's eye,

* Elemental powers. Most people have control over at least one, even if it's at most the ability to light a cigarette with damp matches, fill the cup for their pot noodle without a tap or short out an annoying neighbour's stereo. Your choice as to what elemental powers (if any) or what combination of powers the characters have. Sherlock, please, unless you're bunnied for another fandom. :D
* On the extremely unlikely chance that you've read Sean Stewart's Firecracker (aka Perfect Circle) I'd love to read an AU where John can see the dead as per that universe. (Then again, you wrote an AU with Brother to Dragons, Companions to Owls, a book I was CONVINCED that no one else in the world had read but me, which I heart you so much for.)
* Some kind of steampunk AU would own me.
* I am such a sucker for telepathy and magical bonding. I KNOW, I know. But I am. Points for somehow making it work 'logically'. (Permission granted for Mycroftian handwaving.)
Are you me? Seriously, I love elemental/super/psychic/talking to dead people powers fic. Especially with magical bonding. I think I now have a new book to add to the TBR mountain.
If you are keen on it, make sure you track down Mockingbird, too. That's the first one of his I read, and it's amazingly wonderful. It's got that same theme of modern/urban magical fantasy. Also with the added bonus of the best descriptions of being pregnant ever written by a male. I imagine his wife hung over his shoulder while he wrote those bits, chiming in, "No, more bloating. More swelling. More discomfort. More of everything." until he got it right.
1. i am SO BLOCKED ON THIS ONE WIP that i am so mad at it u guise i swear 2. i swear i'm normally sober a lot more often 3. omg soulbonding is so hilarious and a lot of it is really bad, like really, which is a shame 4. i should really go buy the book (read it in the library first go around) but i'd have to order it from amazon and that's effort

Surprisingly, John finds he's really not that bothered by the idea of Sherlock reading his mind. That is, he is bothered. But he's bothered at Sherlock picking his pockets or storming into the bath when John's taking a shower, to talk to him about something could really afford to wait a few minutes

I can never get enough of that brilliant verse of yours. Maybe you could revisit what's going on with Lestrade now that Sherlock is with John.
