C25K - Week 5, Day 1

Sep 26, 2014 11:46

I did not in fact work to get back on schedule. So I guess I will remain 1 run behind schedule, and I am ok with that.

I went back to Wright's Field for the first time in awhile. It wasn't bad, although a little damp. I made it 4 times around and walked in place for 1 minute when I got back home-- so my pace is above what it was when I was just running 8 minutes. Of course it is.

Week 5 is complicated; every run is different. For today, I walked 5 minutes, ran 5 minutes, walked 3 minutes, ran 5, walked 3, ran 5, and walked 5. So it's actually less running than last week (15 minutes vs. 16). But the program is getting me used to running longer intervals.

It was a doozy. I was (and I remain) pretty tired by the end. I think I'm still feeling the slight loss of endurance from skipping last Sunday's run.

Oh, I should state: I got that job. I'll be working in Stamford Connecticut full time, starting October 13th (maybe coming in for a few days training before that). I gave my boss 2 weeks notice yesterday; work is going to be tough for those two weeks. David is pushing me to do a lot of marketing work that would normally be spread out for several months, and he wants me streamline a lot of the customer service stuff so I can train a new person soon.

I'm really happy about the new job. It'll be more work and more stress, but it'll let me move on into the next stage of my life, which I have been wanting to do for a long time.
