Reversebang: Noise In The Machine Postponed
First, I want to thank all of you for the nice comments you left on my art masterpost. I'm wayyyy behind answering my comments (and my gmail box is even worse, sorry) but I wanted to let you know that posting art is still really nervewracking for me, and the impostor syndrom is still there in the back of my mind, so each comment makes me believe a little more in myself.
As some of you might have realized by now, the reversebang story that goes with my art hasn't been posted yet. Here's what happened. My art got claimed first by a good friend of mine here on LJ, that had to withdraw for personnal reasons -she's been so sweet and nice about it, and I only hope we'll get to work together again in the future. So my art was pinch hit and an author I didn't know -yet- claimed it. Her name is dollarformyname and she is mostly an artist -you guys should check her journal, she's so talented.
From the beginning we hit it on, she's a fantastic person, and she was so enthusiastic about my art and the story she had thought about, and our collaboration went very well. The thing is, the poor girl almost drove herself sick to finish the story in time and she couldn't. I had read what she has so far and I had immediatly fell in love with her story -she's apparently as good as a writer as she is as an artist. When she admitted she wouldn't meet the deadline, I decided to stick with her. I really want it to be her story that goes with the art I made. We participate in these challenges for fun and I didn't want her to beat herself up. In the past, I hadn't been lucky: author or artists disapearing on me, gift exchanges where I didn't receive anything, etc.
But with dollarformyname it's different. I offered her that we withdraw from the reversebang and to give her the time she needs to finish the story.
The reversebang mods have been so understanding -thank you guys! And now what I'm asking of you guys is a little patience, because trust me, this story is worth the wait. Plus, I made a new friend. dollarformyname has all my trust and I'll be there to cheer her every step of the way.
As usual, when I want to post a small update about myself it turns into a novel. So let's end up with something cute as an appology.
I received a kitten for Christmas -from someone who kind of forgot I was struggling so much with money and didn't realise that owning a pet is not free. And since I was in a very bad place, I was decided not to love that cat. Of course, the little sh*t knowing this, and being a cat, made a mission of owning my heart. Never seen a cat like her -she fetches, she sits, she turns to show her belly, she walks on two legs and she looks at me with her little batgirl face with so much affection in her eyes I can't resist. It's like she knows I miss my dogs so much she tries very hard to be one.
