The further adventures of organ moving
So as I was digging through the phone book today to find a U-Haul to move this thing with... I decided to actually call movers and get some price quotes. The first couple I called where a bit spendy. They were listed as movers only. The last I tried was specifically a piano/organ mover. For $125 I don't have to run all over picking things up and dropping them off, roping friends into helping me push it, missing an entire day of work, etc. When I did the math... $40 plus hidden costs for the U-Haul, $30 for the organ dolly rental, $90 for an entire day of work missed, gas for running around picking all this stuff up - leaves me ahead in the big picture. It took 1/4 of my sci-fi book collection going to the used book store to do it (more will follow this week I suspect) BUT in the end I'll end up with the organ at my house where it needs to be!
