man, this is one of those "life is good" moments.
i'm sitting on my front porch. it's 70 degrees, sunny and beautiful out. the street is quiet except for some birds chirping and some children playing way at the end of the street. i'm "working from home" for the afternoon (fuckin' around...). i've got a beer and a bag of cool ranch doritos at my side. i just picked up mara's box-o-fun to borrow for the summer, which includes :
1) one nintendo entertainment system
2) a slew of games for said nes, including all my favs (except Tetris...)
3) two controllers and the DUCK HUNT GUN(!!!) for said nes
4) a super nintendo entertainment system
5) super mario world and mariokart for snes
and some other stuff i am not so interested in, like ps1.
AND she told me she doesn't have room in her storage unit for her 27" TV, so if I could use it, that would help her out.
so, i'm chillin' on my porch with a beer and doritos, not working but getting paid to work, and i have this kick ass game setup that i can put in my room and play on a fucking 27" TV. tonight i will have to figure out where the hell that tv is gonna go... it may make quite a mess of my room, but it means i can play nintendo without worrying about bothering anyone else in the house, so it is worth it.
and all i have to say is yizzah.
now just to get a more comfortable chair for the porch here and maybe a little foot rest. my legs are starting to hurt...
oh, and a new job so i can make real money, and my appetite back, and, oh, i dunno, i good lay.
in other news, two months after running into my old friend dan gorman, i finally got to hang out with him this weekend. i dont have any friends from those bygone high school days anymore and dan was the last person i expected to ever see again. but i realized that dan fits into my life the same way people like john and ben do. never had to try to impress him, it was just always easy to hang out at any time and just chill. i think we will pick up where we left off very easily.
