This afternoon at Peet's, a mom and her two sons walked in. The eldest couldn't have been older than 4, and the younger one looked to be about 2. The mom tried to keep her boys quiet at the table-- she even bought them cartons of chocolate milk hoping that was enough of a distraction-- but eventually gave up and let them socialize with the other patrons.
Some boys are born to flirt. The older one approached all of the young women in the store, and chatted with them briefly. He's a cute little boy-- blond bowl cut, brown doe eyes, big smile. His little brother tagged along. When this boy made his way to me, he snuggled up next to me, flashed a smile, and said, "Do you know where my mom is?" I was so taken aback by his skills that I just laughed and pointed at his mom. His mom hung her head and looked a bit embarrassed.
I smiled at the mom and said, "Your son may have made my day." She said thank you, and tried to retrieve her Don Juan with little success.
Thank you, Mom and Two Sons at Peet's.
