Snagged from endlessdeep and greeneyedmissy

Please God let this LJ Cut thing work for me.

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
My credit card bill. I pay it off every time, but it's no fun.

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
I have young kids (5 & 7), we have our dinners together as a family. It's not romantic but that's OK because when they are teenagers they won't want to eat with us. Maybe then we can have a romantic dinner.

3. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Combing through my Out of Africa screencaps and seeing if anything is good. It's a 4:3 film and the quality is not so good. I may have to throw them all away and wait for the 25th anniversary wide-screen version to come out on April 27th. Yeah, I've been in a period drama or epic movie sort of mood lately.

4. How many colleges did you attend?
How much time do you have? OK, three community colleges, and 2 universities (one was in Melbourne, Australia). It took me a long time to get my degree because I was sort of addicted to traveling. I was also sorting myself out through travel.

5. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
Because I went for a 20 minute run/walk and needed to wear this workout tank top.

6. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
I don't think about it. Wait, I do. I put it on my airline mileage credit card and think, 'oh, at least I earned more miles."

7. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
What day is it? Do I need to take someone to school?

8. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
I watched Out of Africa last night and thought to myself, "Robert Redford does nothing for me, but that one scene was quite hot. Can you guess the scene? Actually, it's what he says to her at the moment. Yeah, it's probably not a movie fresh in anyone's mind, but I still won't give it away here.

9. Do you miss being a child?
Hell no. My mother was an alcoholic. Parents were divorced. Coming home from school wondering if she will be drunk on the couch. Yeah, not missing that. However, I still had many, many wonderful years as a child. I just had a situation at home that I could not change. Children are remarkable adaptable. I am proof of this.

10. What errand/chore do you despise?
This one is easy. House cleaning. I really should consider hiring someone at least once a month. I am so busy managing papers, laundry, toys, and stuff that the deep cleaning does not happen regularly. I wish I had an OCD complex here because then everything would be tidy and clean. I'm artistic and love to exist in that creative state which doesn't leave room for constant neatness. Oh well.

11. Get up early or sleep in?
Early. I am a morning person. But I still stay up too late.

12. Have you found real love yet?
Oh yeah. My hubby is my Love. From the moment I met him I wanted to be with him. He grounds me and completes me. We've been together 14 years and married for 9 of those years. I feel blessed being married to such a wonderful person.

13. Favorite lunch meat?
I've never been a fan of lunch meat. As of late, I have grilled salmon at lunch if I am at home. If I am out, then it's a burrito from a taqueria.

14. What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart?
I rarely go there because I sort of get depressed by the people that shop there. Actually, it's the kids and their parents that make me sad. I feel sorry for the kids. I'm probably not making any sense. That said, I have stock in Wal-Mart.

15. Beach or lake?
For me, the desert or a creek on a hot summer's day. I love to sit in a beach chair in a creek with a book on a hot summer's day with a cold beer to drink. This is where I did this last summer. It's at Grover Hot Springs in the Sierras.

16. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Not at all. I'm traditional.

17. Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
Neither. A better question for me would be, "Who is your favorite vampire?" That one is easy...Spike from BtVS, followed up by Mick St. John, and coming in 3rd would be Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. Speaking of The Vampire Diaries, it has really turned into a good show with wonderful character development  I kept watching because I like a vampire storyline in my life ever since Spike entered my consciousness. Oh, I totally hijacked that question. Yeah, off on a tangent...that's me. :D

18.What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Richard Armitage, the actor. He's not that famous in the states, but he is famous in the UK.

19. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
No, but I broke my taillight out when I was getting my kids passports for our trip to England. So, I sort of like to be reminded of that enjoyable vacation. I haven't fixed the taillight. Yeah, I'm a nut.

20. Ever use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
Nope.

21. Ring tone?
Yes, but I don't know what it's called. Although, I would like to change it to Back in Black by AC/DC.

22. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
Mt. Sinai in Egypt. You know, Moses/Ten Commandments etc. It was also the coldest night I have slept anywhere.

23. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
I live in California, but I have never been to Yosemite.

24. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Neither. I love being a stay at home mom. I enjoy managing the house and family and continuing to develop my skills with video editing/graphics, etc. I'm a better person to everyone if my creative urges are regularly satisfied. Does that make sense?

25. How old are you?
42, but I will be 43 on April 6th.

26. Do you have a go to person?
Yes, if I need logical/engineering advice, I go to my husband.
If I need to vent, I seek out one of my close girlfriends.
Both of those are available if I need a good cry. Doesn't everyone need a good cry now and again? Mine mostly come from watching a movie or reading a book.

27. Are you where you want to be in life?
Yes. I know some areas I will always be working on (healthy eating, exercising, and keeping my house up) since these are ongoing.

28. Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons?
Hong Kong Phooey.

29. What about you do you think has changed the most?
I am grounded. I'm more compassionate.

30. Looking back at high school were they the best years of your life?
It was a good time. I like my 40s much better though.

31. Are there times you still feel like a kid?
Oh yeah. I have young kids so I am silly with them all the time. This morning on the way to school the kids saw a bug as we were getting in the car and decided to name him "Stinky Pete" so we made up songs about Stinky Pete all the way to school. I hope that counts.

32. Did you ever own troll dolls?
No. They were strange looking to me.

33. Did you have a pager?
No, of course not. I have a cell phone. I don't even know a person with a pager.

34. Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
Skoochies. A dance club for teens.

35. Were you the type of kid you would want your children to hang out with?
Yes. I was a happy kid despite my mother's alcoholism.

Hopefully, if you read all they way to here, you were not too bored.

Is anyone looking forward to a bunch more shows starting up this week? I sure am! Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, The Mentalist, Castle (oh, that's on my Tivo right now!) and others I can't think of.

Off to go watch Castle!
