Caveat: my memory of the books I've read is appalling, so I may change my mind later in the reread, or may in fact have forgotten things that are obvious in the later books.

In two weeks time, I depart for two weeks winter holidays, going skiing with my parents and the Big Hairy Finn. I'm trying to get some suitable reading material together. I have plenty on my Lal-pile*, but none that I can see reading whilst on holidays with my parents.

So I need some suggestions.
