This is...phenomenal. Really, I'm having difficultly articulating exactly how much I loved it. For one thing, it makes you think. Like, really think. You've managed to capture a level of realism that, honestly, I never would have expected given the crackiness of the source material, no matter how dark it can get at times. Gokudera's characterization, heck-- everybody's characterization-- is just so perfect.

XD;; Ahahaha, I maybe shouldn't admit to this, but the open ending was really only because I couldn't THINK of a proper way that I wanted to end this. 'Peaches and cream' seemed a bit too happy and unrealistic, but I really wanted something to balance out all of the BLACK BLACK ANGST that came beforehand, so, well, happy medium?

^^;; I'm glad my BS-ing satisfied people, though. And, uh, LOL ICON. XD

First line is gold. For some reason, there's a serious lack of fic that involves Reborn. The little guy, I mean. Or maybe I'm just looking in all the wrong places. |D

But it's Yamamoto who avoids him, in the halls, who turns his head away with an uncharacteristic tension to his frame, and the Tenth smiles, desperately, and tries to smooth things over. I didn't doubt that you could make me really feel the 5927, but damn if your 8059/OT3-triangle doesn't make me spasm painfully in the chest and ease my way into it. ;A;

I especially liked that the ending was ambiguous; I adore the quirks of your Gokudera, and Shamal and Haru were a really nice touch. <33

Mmmm, a lot of people seem to like that first line. ^^;; I'm glad, 'cuz I was wondering how IC it would seem. Which, BTW, it's hard to write fic about Reborn because a.) he's a baby and hence you are some sort of 4chan sicko if you write him in a pairing fic or (OH JESUS) porn, and b.) despite being a fairly prominent figure in the series, there's a bunch of mystery about him, and his motives are SOOPAR hard to figure out. And because he's not OMG HAWT like say, Mukuro or Hibari, nobody cares to try and figure out the reasonings behind everything.Well, shit, now I want Reborn fic

So good, so good, so good. I love that this is more a treatise on Gokudera with bonus Tsuna-love - the romantic bits are more plausible because of the depth of the rest of the characterisation, and also because I think the one thing I like in pairing fic is everyone else. Canon is so 'I ♥ MY FAMIGLIA' that it feels wrong when a fic has heavy emphasis on just two people.

And you mention everyone! Even dearly departed Mum. I like the way you approach how he feels about her - because what, after all, could he really think about someone he last saw when he was three? Your pre-series Gokudera steals my heart all around, because there's that bit of woobie coming through the grrr I'm tough exterior. But maybe, the only reason he did it that way was because he was too chicken to just go up and say hello. - D'aaaww.
