~Chapter Twenty-Five~
“I said to go!” Yunho yelled angrily, his blood pressure reaching its boiling point with just the mere sight of the man.
“Please, you have to hear me out” Junsu pleaded.
“Have you any idea who this guy is? He’s -”
“I know … I know very well who Yoochun is” he whispered, “please, just give me a chance to explain everything.”
“Yunho” JaeJoong murmured from behind, “can I talk to you for a minute?”
“Wait here” Yunho instructed the two at the door before following JaeJoong along the corridor.
JaeJoong turned around nervously and began, “I’m just as confused and lost as you are, but maybe we should listen to what they have to say.”
“I’m not letting Yoochun back in our house. Not after everything that’s happened.”
He sighed, “I’m not necessarily thrilled about the idea either, but I’m sure there has to be a reasonable explanation why Junsu’s with him.”
“I swear if those two are doing something they shouldn’t be doing, I’m gonna kill Yoochun first before I go after Junsu.”
JaeJoong shot Yunho a wary look as they walked back out towards their unexpected visitors.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Once Yunho and JaeJoong were out of sight, Yoochun wrapped his arms around Junsu’s shoulder and kissed the top of his head softly. He felt Junsu’s body trembling, and he was unsure whether it was because of the cold winter air blowing against them or he’s scared of the outcome of it all. Neither of them said anything, and Junsu slowly reached for Yoochun’s hand, giving it a tight squeeze.
“Don’t be afraid” he murmured against Junsu’s ear, “it’ll work out in the end.”
“I hope so. God Yoochun, what if coming here was a big mistake?”
“It’s not, Su” he told him reassuringly, “it’s good what we’re doing. You just wait; they’ll come to understand us.”
Junsu was beginning to feel lightheaded and nauseous from all that was going on. He stumbled backward against Yoochun’s chest and he quickly caught a hold of him. “What’s wrong? Are you ok?” he questioned worriedly.
Junsu massaged his temples with his fingers, trying to ease his growing headache, “I don’t feel too good … I want to go.”
“Are you sure?”
He nodded, “I don’t want to be here right now.”
“Alright then.”
Just as the two were about to make their getaway, the door flung open and JaeJoong and Yunho appeared at the doorway again.
“What’s wrong?” JaeJoong asked once he took notice of his brother’s condition.
“He’s not well” Yoochun answered.
“Here, let’s get you inside” he said, quickly reaching out for his brother’s arm.
Junsu attempted to resist him, but he figured it was pointless in doing so now that the situation was like this.
Yunho stayed behind and made way for the two to come in. Yoochun trailed along behind them and winced slightly at Yunho’s piercing gaze.
“Keep your distance” he snickered, “and we shouldn’t have a problem.”
Yoochun stood directly in front of him and stared back at him intently, “don’t worry; things aren’t like how they were before.”
He laughed cynically, “Like I’m supposed to believe that.”
“It’s true” he pressed on.
“Don’t tempt me to kick you out. The only reason why you’re lucky enough to be here is because Jae insisted on it. Plus, Junsu’s family, and I can never refuse family.”
Yoochun followed him to the living room and watched as JaeJoong handed his brother an ice pack for his head and a glass of water.
“Are you sick?” he asked Junsu.
Junsu gulped down the water in one go, “no, I’m fine.”
JaeJoong sighed, “What’s going on Su?” he motioned towards Yoochun with his eyes.
Yoochun locked gazes with Junsu and offered him a small smile.
Junsu fidgeted uncomfortably in his seat for a minute before going on, “hyung, it isn’t easy for me to be here, but I feel guilty if I continue to lie to you guys like this.”
“Lie about what?”
“Well … you see … Yoochun …” he stuttered nervously.
“Say it” JaeJoong urged.
“We’re … kind of … together …” he murmured quietly.
The room suddenly grew deafeningly quiet to Junsu’s ears. When he looked up at the two, he saw Yunho’s face growing dark red; his knuckles turned as white as a ghost and his hand shook violently in anger at his sides.
“Please just hear me out until the end. You see, Yoochun used to be my -”
Junsu stopped and gasped lowly when Yunho charged towards Yoochun steamed as ever, grabbing the man by the collar of his shirt, drawing him close.
“First you go after Jae and now Junsu? What the hell do you really want from us?” he demanded.
“Yunho, stop” Junsu pleaded, coming in between and pushing the two apart, “he’s not up to anything.”
“Stay out of this Su.”
“I can’t when it involves me too!”
Yoochun let out a small chuckle, “you’re not going to believe anything I tell you, are you? You hate me that much?”
“I can’t even bear the sight of you.”
Junsu turned to JaeJoong for help, but refused the idea when he saw the look of disappointment cross over his face.
“Yunho please, just listen to me before jumping to conclusions” Junsu pleaded once more.
“You know what Yoochun did to us, to Jae, and yet you’re still going to give him a free ride and let him back into out lives? How could you?!”
Junsu’s eyes felt moist and his cheeks did too soon after when tears started making their way down them. “You don’t understand. Yoochun and I were together even before he met hyung …”
Yunho’s eyes widened in surprise, “wh-what do you mean?”
“… Yoochun used to be my high school teacher, but because we got caught by another student we were threatened to break up. Yoochun didn’t want to and took the separation pretty hard. A week later we were notified from the school that he quit his job as a teacher and moved away. He even changed his number so I couldn’t even contact him at that time. We only just recently rediscovered each other a few months back because of what happened to hyung.”
“Junsu” JaeJoong whispered timidly, “why didn’t you ever tell me you were seeing someone in high school, more specifically Yoochun?”
“I’m sorry, I really am, but back then when I was younger I was afraid I’d get into trouble with you.”
“What do you think you’re in now? You’re in even more trouble than ever” Yunho snarled. “And you’re just as responsible for your actions as Yoochun is.”
“Yoochun isn’t like how he was before, he’s different now and feels sorry for what he did to hurt hyung."
“I don’t believe that. Once an abuser, always an abuser. Yoochun can’t change.”
“None of this makes any sense” JaeJoong declared shaking his head, “you and Yoochun met before we got together? If that was the case then why did he and I …” he trailed off, unable to say the words with his own lips.
“Yoochun didn’t know we were brothers. It was only after I confronted him about it did he find out then.”
“So … when you confronted Yoochun about it … that’s when this whole thing began again?”
Junsu nodded silently. “I’m really sorry hyung. I meant to tell you earlier but I … I didn’t think it was right after all that you and Yunho went through. Originally, I wasn’t even planning on telling you anything, but as time went on, it became even harder for me and Yoochun to keep our relationship a secret and -”
“I won’t allow it” Yunho said suddenly.
Yoochun and Junsu both turned to him surprised. “Wh-what?” Junsu murmured.
Yunho looked up at him and stated firmly, “I don’t care what type of history you had with Yoochun before because that’s all in the past. He’s not the same guy he was then Su, you have to believe that.”
“Y-you’re wrong. Yoochun’s -”
“Junsu please” he said grabbing him by his shoulders, “you can’t honestly tell me you love this man after everything he’s done to hurt your own flesh and blood. You have to take into consideration our feelings about this too, especially Jae’s. Didn’t you think this whole thing through before you decided to do this, to rekindle your relationship with him?”
Yoochun was angered deeply by Yunho’s words. All this time he had stayed remotely quiet, but he felt he couldn’t hold back any longer.
“Why is it so hard for you to believe that maybe I’ve changed for the better?” he growled.
“Because that will only happen if you had a heart which I doubt you have” Yunho scoffed.
“Really? I don’t have a heart? If that’s the case then I wouldn’t be able to love Junsu.”
“Don’t say that” he snapped.
“I love Junsu” he provoked, “maybe even more than you love JaeJoong.”
“That’s enough!" Yunho shrieked, his veins now becoming visible on his neck from all the resentment he felt building up in him, "Junsu, this is your first and last warning, I’m forbidding you from seeing Yoochun.”
“Y-Yunho, don’t … please” the latter mumbled speechlessly as more tears rolled down his cheeks.
“I don’t care anymore. I don’t want Yoochun back here ever again, and if he ever does show up in front of us, I’m won’t hesitate to take drastic measures again him” he threatened. “Get out, now!” he barked at Yoochun.
When Yoochun only stared at him in disbelief, Yunho grabbed his arm and dragged him out towards the door forcefully.
“Yunho, please, stop it” Junsu begged him, trying to break the two of them up once more.
JaeJoong quietly went to hold back his brother and he stared up at him in bewilderment, “h-hyung.”
“Yunho’s right Su, this isn’t good for any of us. You’re going to have to let him go.”
Junsu shook his head defiantly at him, “I don’t want to, I love him!” he sobbed.
JaeJoong sighed, “Don’t be like this Su. We know what’s best for you so you’re just going to have to trust us.”
Junsu collapsed on the floor then, burying his face in his hands. “No you don’t! If you knew what was good for me you’d let me see Yoochun.”
*~*~*~*~*~*
“You can’t stop Junsu and me from seeing each other. It’s not fair!” Yoochun yelled at Yunho as they were at the open doorway.
“You know what’s not fair? The way you brutally hurt Jae, the way you threatened him and locked him away as if he was some caged animal. The way he had to fight you just so he can leave you. The amount of sadness he felt because of the way you treated him. That is what’s not fair, but this … this is completely fair. If I feel you’re a threat to my family I have a right to keep you back, and that’s exactly what I’m doing now. Goodbye” Yunho told him before quickly closing the door in his face.
Feeling defeated, Yoochun had no other choice but to do as he asked and leave, but that didn’t necessarily mean he won’t come back.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Yunho strolled back inside to where Junsu and JaeJoong were. Junsu stood up quickly when he approached closer and yelled, “what right do you have to forbid me from seeing Yoochun? You’re not my parents, neither of you are!”
Junsu’s words burned him a little, but he immediately regained his composure and retorted, “I can’t believe you’re even saying that you like Yoochun after he hurt us the way he did.”
“You should be thankful that Yoochun took hyung in at that time after you couldn’t even keep him under your own rooftop. Yoochun took care of him when we all though he was no more, something even you couldn’t have done. You let him go for crying out loud!”
“Junsu, that’s enough” JaeJoong intervened.
“Hyung” he said, turning to him, “I can’t believe you’d take Yunho’s side over mine. Doesn’t my happiness count for anything?”
JaeJoong remained quiet. He didn’t know what to say then. What was he supposed to say so as to not hurt either of them? Having Yoochun show up here unexpectedly gave him quite a scare, and what Yunho said was true too, after all that’s happened, how does Junsu have the ability to even say he loves Yoochun in front of them?
“For the time being, you’re staying here” Yunho instructed him.
Junsu turned to him, eyes wide in despair. “Hy-hyung?” he turned to his brother for any sort of assistance.
JaeJoong continued to remain silent, and Junsu looked back and forth between the two. “Fine, I’ll stay, but I can’t believe you two are acting like its some sort of crime I love someone.”
“Any other guy besides Yoochun would’ve been fine Su. You brought this unto your own self; you should’ve known this was coming.”
“You’re right, I did know something like this would happen, but I didn’t think you’d blow things so out of proportioned. I hate this, and I hate you both!” Junsu yelled frustratedly and stormed off in the opposite direction towards the guest bedroom. He slammed the door shut then; causing both men to wince at its high volume, and the twins woke up startled, breaking out in to loud cries.
*~*~*~*~*~*
JaeJoong slipped into bed besides Yunho and welcomed his husband warmly with open arms. JaeJoong smiled at him and nuzzled his face in the crook of his neck, planting a small kiss there. He rested his hand lightly on his muscular chest as Yunho caressed his back soothingly.
“I have a feeling this isn’t the end” JaeJoong said. “They both seem so persistent; I think they’ll come back to us with an even bigger force.”
Yunho lifted his head up and crashed his lips against his, “then we’re going to have to be prepared for the worst yet to come.”
“Are you sure we’re doing the right thing? I mean …”
“You don’t need to feel guilty about anything, you do know that don’t you?”
“Yeah, it’s just that what Junsu said earlier kinda hurts a little.”
“We’re protecting him, and sooner or later he’ll realize we’re doing something good to help him. He’ll thank us for it later, just you wait and see.”
JaeJoong brought the blanket closer to his face and wrapped his arms around Yunho’s waist.
“Today was a long day, you should get some sleep” Yunho whispered while stroking his hair lovingly.
JaeJoong nodded against his chest. “Yunho?” he asked sleepily.
“Hmm?”
“… I’m sorry.”
Yunho stared down at him peculiarly, “what are you apologizing for?”
Before he could answer, JaeJoong had already fallen into a deep slumber, leaving Yunho to contemplate about his unusual apology to him.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Junsu frustrated pulled out his cell phone from his back pocket and dialed Yoochun’s number hastily. He found a comfortable position in bed before pressing the send button and waiting for the other line to get picked up.
“Su?”
He heaved out a sigh, “What are we going to do?”
“Don’t worry, we’ll find a way to get to them soon.”
“It was a mistake bringing you to them now, wasn’t it?”
Yoochun chuckled, “of course not. It’ll be fine Su, don’t worry too much about it.”
“… I wish you were here now. I feel like I’m in prison here.”
“Where are you?”
“At the house. They’re making me stay here until things cool down a bit. I think we might have caught them off guard a bit with the whole dating thing.”
"You're telling me." Yoochun sighed, “This isn’t the end Su, I love you too much to let you go again. We’re going to have to push them hard if we want them to accept us. Are you ready for this?”
Junsu placed his hand over his heart and felt how incredibly fast it was beating. He closed his eyes shut for a moment and leveled out his breathing. He knew this was coming, he knew a fight would ensure sooner or later, and now, he needed to prepare his heart for the worst.
What was to come wouldn’t be easy for the two, but it was a once in a lifetime chance. This was the last time Junsu could prove to Yunho and JaeJoong that Yoochun has changed for good. In their fight, Junsu was going to show them what kind of love is seriously worth fighting for.
“I’m ready.”
