[FIC] Love Me Twice (… because I just can’t let you go) [22/??]

Panic rushed through Junsu’s entire body then when Yoochun glared at him right before walking away angrily. He stood up immediately from his seat and Dong-Wook glanced up at him surprised.

“Sorry, I need to leave first, but thanks for tonight” Junsu told him quickly as he grabbed his coat off the back of the chair and jogged out the door.

Being greeted by a gust of icy cold air didn’t seem like a bad idea right now. In fact, it helped to cool down Junsu’s heated body at the moment.

“Yoochun wait!” he yelled, catching the man by the arm before he got a chance to slip back in his car.

Yoochun shook him off him harshly and Junsu took a step backward.

“I’m sorry Yoochun, but really, this isn’t what it looks like -”

“Oh really? Then what else am I supposed to think?” he cut him off sharply. “How the hell do you expect me to feel knowing you didn’t carry through with your word to me?”

“Please, just give me a chance to explain -”

“Explain?” he snickered, “do you even deserve that much from me? To take my precious time and have it be wasted by you?”

Junsu fought hard to hold back his tears from pooling down his eyes. He knew he hurt Yoochun severely, and in all honesty, he didn’t mean for things to happen this way. He didn’t even think Yoochun would take this route back to his apartment, and because of him now, he was basically putting the man through hell.

“… It isn’t what you think it is” Junsu whispered. “There’s nothing going on between Dong-Wook and I.”

“Not yet that is.”

“Yoochun, please stop” he told him firmly.

He laughed a little in disbelief and shook his head at Junsu, “you lied to me. You said you wouldn’t come to see this guy and that you’d tell your brother to stop interfering. Did you even do that much?”

Junsu looked away from him, embarrassed to even face Yoochun like this.

“That’s what I thought.”

“You’re taking things the wrong way!”

“What else do you expect me to do then? Act as if I didn’t see you in there having a good time with what’s his face?! Are you even serious about us?”

“Of course I am -”

“Then start acting like you are because as of right now I’m getting tired of playing games with you!”

Yoochun turned away from him and approached his car once more. At this point in time, Junsu couldn’t contain his tears any longer and let loose of everything.

“Yoochun, please listen to me” he sobbed, latching onto his arm to prevent him from leaving.

“Don’t touch me!” he barked loudly.

Yoochun snatched his hand away, and in the process, accidentally backhanded Junsu across his right cheek. Junsu stumbled backwards in shock as he immediately reached for his aching cheek. Yoochun looked at him just as surprised.

“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. Are you alright?” he asked Junsu quickly without reaching out to him.

More tears brimmed at the rim of his eyes, “I’m fine” he replied shakily.

Yoochun stood there for a few minutes longer together with Junsu. He didn’t know exactly why he had been waiting there with him, but after what had just happened, he felt like he owed that much to the latter.

“I’ll see you around” Yoochun finally spoke before slipping into the driver’s side.

He took off from the curb at immense speed, feeling angry with himself. Although his strike at Junsu had been an accident, what he’d done to him was intentional, whether or not he intended for Yoochun to find out about it.

He began to wonder then if he had done the right thing in leaving Junsu behind. It didn’t matter though, because he had gone too far now to turn back, just like their relationship. Where did they stand now exactly? Was it too late to forgive and forget? If so, how long more would Yoochun have to put up with Junsu beating around the bushes before they could finally confess openly that they love each other to JaeJoong and Yunho?

Yoochun felt a migraine making its way in and quickly reached in his briefcase for two pills and a bottled water. As of now, he didn’t want to think anymore, he didn’t want to think of his aching heart breaking in half when he saw Junsu back at the restaurant and of Junsu’s own dumbfounded expression he wore when he accidentally hit him.

Pressing down on the accelerator even harsher, Yoochun wanted to run over the images he saw tonight. He had never touched Junsu that way, ever. He promised himself that he never would either, and yet, here he was.

When Yoochun finally decided to make a U-turn and go back to Junsu, by the time he arrived back at the restaurant, he was gone.

“Yunho” JaeJoong said shaking him gently, “Yunho!”

His eyes shot open and he gazed at JaeJoong curiously, “what?”

“You overslept; you’re late for work.”

He jolted up from bed immediately and groaned, “I completely forgot to set the alarm last night before going to sleep.”

“What are you gonna do, you’re already 3 hours late?”

“Then I guess there’s no point in going now” he said rolling out of bed.

Yunho went to use the bathroom for 5 minutes, and when he came back out, he strolled over to the kitchen to make a phone call.

“Yes, please inform Mr. Choi of my absence. Thanks.”

As he was ending the call, JaeJoong came out of the bedroom and joined him.

“What your excuse?”

“That I’m not feeling well today.”

“You must really not want to go back to work so soon.”

“It’s not like I did this on purpose or anything. Besides, I thought you’d be happy I’m here with you.”

JaeJoong smiled, “don’t take it the wrong way, I am happy you’re here” he said, hugging his waist tightly.

Yunho returned the smile and wrapped his arms around his shoulders, and just as he leaned down to kiss him, they heard one of the twins crying from the master bedroom.

“Every time” Yunho gritted his teeth, “every damn time."

JaeJoong laughed breaking away from his grasp and went off to attend to his baby’s needs. It was In-Su who had been crying. He picked him up carefully and bounced him gently in his arms; however, this only resulted in him wailing louder. JaeJoong checked to see if he needed a new diaper, but that wasn’t the case. He tried feeding him a bottle but In-Su refused that also.

“I don’t know what he wants” JaeJoong said feeling somewhat lousy that he couldn’t get his child to stop crying.

“Here, let me try” Yunho said, taking In-Su from him.

He studied him for a while and Yunho carefully laid him down on the floor in the living room. He then took off In-Su’s blanket and loosened the buttons on his pajamas a little. He blew inside his shirt to cool him down, and slowly, his crying had stopped completely.

“It might be that he’s feeling too stuffy because he’s wearing so many layers. You should change him into something lighter.”

“How did you know that?” JaeJoong asked incredulously.

“I took care of Na Young by myself before, remember?” he laughed.

The two looked down at In-Su and he smiled up at them with his mouth wide open. JaeJoong tickled his stomach and he laughed rolling over to his side.

“I swear, we have the cutest babies in the world” Yunho said, giving In-Su a light pat on his behind.

“I know, I feel the same way.”

“Umma, appa!” Na Young shouted and sprinted down the hall towards Yunho’s outstretched arms.

He squeezed her tightly and kissed the top of her head, “feeling better baby?”

She nodded, “what are you guys doing? Which one is this?” she motioned towards her brother on the floor.

JaeJoong chuckled at her, “this here is In-Su, but are you sure you’re feeling ok?”

“I’m very much ok” she answered.

“Listen honey, we’re really sorry if we’ve been neglectful to you for the past few days. We didn’t mean to, but the with the twins here it’s been somewhat hard for us to keep up with everything” Yunho told her.

“That’s ok, I get it. Besides, with In-Su and Ji Hoo crying so much at night it was hard to fall back asleep. I don’t know how you guys do it” she said amusedly which caused JaeJoong and Yunho to burst out into fits of laughter.

“You just have to approach it calmly, not to mention one day at a time.”

“Can I hold him?” Na Young asked.

“Sure, right after I check your temperature to make sure your sickness is all gone. We don’t want the twins getting sick now do we?” JaeJoong told her.

“Oh alright” she said reluctantly and followed him to the kitchen where the thermometer laid.

Once he examined her and made sure Na Young’s temperature was normal again, JaeJoong told the little girl to take a seat on the couch and said that they’ll bring In-Su over to her. Yunho cautiously placed the 2 week old baby in Na Young’s small arms and JaeJoong gently helped her support him. In-Su gazed up at the three family members and lips quivered slightly right before he started crying again.

“I think he’s frightened that so many of us are around him” JaeJoong said lifting the child up in his arms and attempting to calm him down.

“Aw, why?”

“He’s a newborn, he’s probably not use to us yet” Yunho added.

“How come I can’t hold my brother all by myself?”

“You’re still too little. You need to support a baby’s entire body as your holding him.”

“I can do that” she answered determined.

“Maybe in a couple years from now, hm?” he said, not wanting to crush her spirits.

“Fine” she grumbled at the two.

“You know Jae; it’s been a while since we last got out of the house. Why don’t we take a drive with the kids later this afternoon just to get some fresh air?” Yunho offered.

“Is it ok for the twins, I mean they’re only 2 weeks old …”

Yunho waved his hand at him, “we’ll just strap them on to their car seats, no big deal.”

“Yeah umma, let’s go out” Na Young urged him.

JaeJoong smiled down at her, “ok, we’ll go right after lunch.”

“Yaay!” both Yunho and Na Young cheered at the same time.

“You’re so childish” JaeJoong said shaking his head at him.

“So I am” Yunho began, coming up from behind him and pressing his lips against the back of his neck, “but if you want me to change I’d do it any day for you.”

JaeJoong felt his cheeks heating up when Yunho glided his hand underneath his shirt and roamed it across his stomach, sending shivers down his spine from the coldness of Yunho’s fingertips once they made contact with his skin.

Yunho took his hand back coolly and acted as if nothing happened while heading towards the kitchen, leaving JaeJoong and Na Young alone in the room. The two of them seemed to be having a staring contest when JaeJoong suddenly asked, “What?”

She shrugged, “nothing.”

JaeJoong didn’t say anything after that. He already knew Na Young was smart for her age, and apparently, she had caught on quite fast to whatever the two of them hid from her, or at least tried to. ‘Smooth Yunho, real smooth.’

“Damnit Yoochun, pick up your phone just once will you!” Junsu muttered agitatedly when yet another call to the man didn’t go through. He slammed his phone closed and tossed it across his bed.

Yoochun has been avoiding him all week, and frankly speaking, Junsu wished he would listen to what explanation he had for him. He knew this wasn’t easy for Yoochun to deal with right now, but what about him? Did he think Junsu himself was happy with the decisions he made, whether they were right or wrong? No, absolutely not.

Junsu eyed his phone for long time before making a grab for it and punching Yoochun’s number in once more. He took a deep breath once the answering machine came on and began, “Hey Yoochun, it’s me … look, I’m really sorry about what happened. I didn’t mean to hurt you, believe me. Please, can we just talk this out? I hope I get to hear from you soon, and … I love you. Bye.”

Once he hung up the phone, Junsu groaned as he fell back on the mattress, “what the heck did I just do?”

*~*~*~*~*~*

“That was nice” JaeJoong said as the family piled back in the house after their drive around the neighborhood.

“I’m kinda hungry” Na Young told him.

“I’ll get a snack for us to eat then” he said. “Here, you can put In-Su and Ji-Hoo under there to play” he instructed Yunho, motioning towards the play-set lying in the living room.

JaeJoong removed his coat and hung it up in the closet before trotting into the kitchen to get started on their snack. Yunho came up from behind and gave his arm a light squeeze, bringing a smile to JaeJoong’s lips.

“Stop” he murmured to Yunho embarrassed when his hand began moving elsewhere, “Na Young’s still here.”

“So?” was his short reply.

He shot him a look, “I’m serious, stop” he told him firmly, trying his hardest not to smile.

“You tell me one thing, but your body tells me something else” Yunho whispered.

JaeJoong crossed his legs so as to deny Yunho’s access, but he kept insisting by nibbling on his neck and roaming his hands on his hips.

Although the two were hidden behind the counter in the kitchen, Na Young was sitting right across from them watching TV in the living room.

“Come’ on, you haven’t kissed me once all day” Yunho whined.

“If I kiss you, will you stop acting like a child?”

“Yes.

“Then no.”

Before Yunho could grab a hold of him, JaeJoong quickly ran off in the opposite direction, earning him questioning stares from Na Young. Yunho ran to catch up with him, and when Na Young saw this she started cheering for him. “Go appa, go!”

JaeJoong ran straight into the bedroom and was caught at a dead end. He turned around to Yunho who grabbed him by him waist, spinning him around in circles. JaeJoong laughed uncontrollably and yelled at him to let him go.

“Not until you promise to give me a kiss” he told him.

“Fine” he gave in, “just put me down.”

Yunho set him down and turned him to face him. He held the sides of his cheeks, pressing his lips onto JaeJoong’s for a brief moment.

“I swear, you’re so bothersome sometimes. You’re lucky the twins are awake” Yunho told him seriously.

“Oh come’ on, where’s that sense of humor you just had a minute ago?”

“It vanished when I saw you.”

“Yeah, and why’s that?” JaeJoong asked, circling his arms around Yunho’s neck.

“Hmm …” he pretended to think of his answer, “Because you make me want to take us seriously. You’re the reason I want us to last for a long time.”

JaeJoong leaned forward and rested his head on his chest, “I want the same thing too. I don’t want you to ever get bored of me or even to question my love for you.”

“That won’t even happen, I guarantee you that much.”

They stayed gathered in each others’ warm embrace for a while before Na Young joined them in the room. “Umma, is the food done?”

JaeJoong slapped himself on the forehead, “I completely forgot about that. I’m sorry sweetie; I’ll get right on it.”

“That’s ok.”

“Wanna help me in the kitchen so we can get it done faster?”

“Sure” she answered, grabbing a hold of his arms and pulling him towards the room.

Yunho stayed behind and watched the two of them. ‘Nothing will separate us again, not even when the day comes where our hearts will turn against us. You’re mine and I’m yours always JaeJoong; and you can hold that promise against me any day.’

Once at home, Yoochun finally decided to listen to the message Junsu left for him earlier. Although he was infuriated with the Junsu at the moment, he found himself repeating the message over and over and over again, replaying the events and feelings that took place that night. Yoochun was tempted to call him, apologize too for accidentally hitting him in the face, but his heart just wasn’t into it.

His phone unexpectedly vibrated in his hand as he was holding onto it. Looking at the caller ID, he hesitated before answering it. He pressed it to his ear without responding.

“Yoochun?” he heard Junsu’s voice on the other line. “Yoochun please say something.”

He didn’t, and continued to remain silent.

“I’m so sorry Yoochun. I’ll tell it to you a thousand times if it’ll make things between us go back to normal again. I’m really sorry. Please, just hear me out. The only reason I went to see Dong-Wook is because … hello? Yoochun?”

Just like that, Yoochun hung up on him and turned his phone off completely as a way to avoid him. He wasn’t the type to cry easily, so Yoochun surprised himself when he sunk down to the floor and let his tears flow freely down his cheeks. He wasn’t ready to face this; his heart wasn’t prepared for what was to come.

Alcohol seemed to be his savior, his friend in this harsh, cruel world, so to relieve himself of what happened on that fretful night, Yoochun spread his arms welcomingly to the wine cellar in the kitchen and got himself completely drunk that evening.
