yesteday, august 4, 2004, my manager and friend ryan martain, was found murdered at 3:45 am by fellow employees coming in for a huge order taking place for cy-fair high school. earlier that day, ryan had asked cassie and myself to come in later that night to help prepair the boxes for the order. cassie, jess and i got there around 11 p.m and didnt leave until 1:30. at 6:30 that same morning i recieved a call from jess, who was absolutely histarical telling me that something aweful had happened at the deli. we hung up and i turned on the news to find out that ryan had been murdered between 3 - 3:45 that morning by someone unknown.
i was told to go up to the deli about 20 min later because some officers needed to have a statment from me concidering i was one of the last people to leave the deli. we were takin downtown to be questioned and then fingure printed to be ruled out.
christy, ryans girlfriend, was up at the station. i lost it when i saw her. both her and ryan were (are) such amazing people and i just dont understand. i guess no one really does.
the police say that there were signs of a struggle. everytime i hear that word, "struggle" i loose it. there was no forced entry. but there was a struggle.
my thoughts a prayers go out to all those who knew and loved ryan. he was one of the kindest persons i was ever in contact with and it was such a blessing to not only have him as my manager, but as my friend, and family member.
whoever did this will be caught.
