I have been in this annoying habit of writing longer-than-necessary posts recently which turn out to be rambling and unorganized. I will attempt to break this habit and be as succinct as possible.
-I received my cap and gown for graduation today. w00t! I look so grown up. :)
-But I'm not. I still have a lot of learning to do, as my kind teachers, counselors, parents and classmates remind me so regularly.
-I received the biggest shock of my life when someone told me at school today that the AP Statistics test is next Tuesday and not in two weeks, as I had thought. I have now, counting today, exactly three days to study, because Thursday-Sunday, I'm going to be in San Diego for the choir tour.
-I am going SF$#%#$%#$KEJFKSDF in my head right now.
-Some "motivational speaker" (or, as I like to think of him, a "corporate spokesperson disguised as a motivational speaker") told me today that my life is the result of my choices and my choices alone. That's not true. I didn't choose to move to America. I didn't choose to move to this city. I didn't choose a lot of things in my life. My parents did. He lied! But everyone else got caught up with what he was saying, which shows the power great orators have. It's so easy to get swept away by what other people say, especially if they are saying it with strength, but we can't forget to think for ourselves. Yeah.
-I can't believe that after dropping a test, a quiz and making another test count as a quiz instead, and test corrections only bumped my physics grade by 1%!!!
-I went to Hot Topic today to pick up Within Temptation's The Howling EP and they didn't have it! *cries*
-Declining college admission offers is depressing. It's like I'm closing all these doors of opportunity that could lead me to so many different places. That bothers me.
Kumar: Where are you going next year, Preeti?
Me: UCSD.
Kumar: And where is Areeba* going?
Me: Cal Poly at San Luis-Obispo
Kumar: Good. You two will be too far away to have your bad influences rub off on each other.
Me: ...
*Areeba is a good friend of mine.
