*grumble mutter*

I'm sad.
Sad sad sad. Or perhaps I'm mad. Whatever it is, it isn't happy.
For those of you who do not know, I'm allergic to poison ivy. Not as in, I'm just sensitive to it, like most people. I'm *allergic* to it. Benefits include being allergic to anything that even chemically resembles poison ivy like tasty tasty mangoes, cashews, and I've heard pistachios also have the poison ivy type oil in it too. Sucks to be me.

But what sucks even more is how sloppy some places can be about keeping things separated or whatever. I really feel for you peanut people. Somehow on Wednesday I ate something that had a poison ivy like chemical in it. Maybe it was traces of mango juice in those sliced peaches I bought at Entropy for a snack. Perhaps the people at the Shadyside Market weren't careful when they were packing their fruit and didn't wash their hands after working with the mangoes? Maybe it was that Chinese sesame candy that I ate, perhaps a few ground cashews got in with the sesame. Or maybe I've developed new sensitivity to other foods that have the oil in it that I don't even know about. Like blueberries. Hard to believe that, though.

Anyway, something didn't agree with my skin, and I have poison ivy on my mouth now. Thank goodness whatever it was I ate was pretty dilute so I didn't get poison ivy too bad inside my mouth. But as you can probably tell, I'm feeling pretty cranky and out of sorts. What's most infuriating about this is it's a 24-hour reaction. Meaning I don't even find out I've been contaminated or came in contact with it until the NEXT DAY! Makes it frustratingly difficult to pin down exactly what caused the reaction so I can avoid it in the future.

Grrr.
I hate allergies.
