We had leftover day!! No review of new food today! Tomorrow is pizza soup day. Be afraid, be very afraid!
Master Grocery List!
This list will have everything as I made the dishes. I will put a star next to things I had on hand. Your mileage may vary! I tried to be very careful, however, I might have missed something. One bag of onions was not enough for me. Had I had two bags of onions it would have been prefect, hence this list has two bags of onions.

http://eternal-chimera.livejournal.com/310343.html Chicken Curry (day 3)
(adjusted spices per yesterdays post)
3 T curry powder
1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
2 pounds chicken (cut up)
1 cups baby carrots.
1 coarsely chopped mango
1 cup chopped onion
1 zucchini chopped
1 ½ cloves garlic
½ cup chicken broth
BAG IT!
Add before cooking - 2 cups chopped peeled sweet potatoes. Add when you start the dish OOPSE I put 2 POUNDS in instead of 2 cups. I only needed one pound!
Garnish with .5 cup raisins, .5 cup peanuts or cashews
I am sure this feels like it is taking forever because of me creating lists and chopping and cutting up all the meat in to smaller closer to bite size pieces and just having never DONE THIS BEFORE. I keep reminding myself that the time investment is going to pay off when I don’t have to think about food much for a whole month. It may be taking longer than I think it should because I did not sit down and plan out my attack a little better. I will see if I can work it out a bit more for the next time. This has made me really want a food processor!

Lemon Garlic Chicken - The bags on this turned out super puny. I am going to cook them both together and when I do this again, I plan to do two bags.
Ingredients: in each bag for the next time!
1 tsp. dried oregano
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. ground black pepper
2 pounds chicken cut up
2 T. butter
1/4 c. chicken broth
3 T Realemon
2 clove garlic minced
1 tsp. parsley
1 8 oz cream cheese
Put in bags!
My tips to date -
Get all the bags, at LEAST 18 plus some extra gallon freezer bags (I had two bags break on me at the zipper, so I advise having a few extras on hand) and some quart size freezer bags, for freezing leftovers and for extra veggies, before you start. Make sure you have a sharpie for labeling. I ended up using measuring cups, measuring spoons, my food scale, cutting boards, knives and a mandolin slicer.
Sit down/get comfy and cut your goodies up. Cut all the meat up and bag as you go, if possible. If you label the bags first then you know what goes in that bag. IF you have a food processor this would probably be MUCH easier. If you wanted to purchase the veggies frozen that might work as well. I did not go that route.
When I was measuring spices for the bags, I used two ramekins to hold the spices until I was ready to dump them in the matching bags.
I tried to buy two small cans instead of one large one wherever I could. It is just easier to keep up with.
I browned my ground meat one pound at a time. I allowed it to cool on a plate while I was cooking the next pound, then bagged it and put the newly browned meat to the plate to cool. The only exception was, I made the taco soup the first day so that never was inside a bag.
