So I made the time-sinking mistake, a, uh, while ago earlier this evening, of clicking through to the bad_penny start post detailing the full wackiness that was the whole msscribe thing that blew big holes in large parts of HP fandom back in the days of yore

The fandom_wank anniversary celebration is DANGEROUS to my ability to do things!

Also, I never remember how OTT some of these wanks really were, either - or at least, I assume I'm exaggerating it in memory until I start paging through. Reality - always weirder than fiction.
