So yesterday at work was pretty much dead, except for the final hour and a half of opening (and the tiiiime beyond that I got as overtime) which was basically a big ol' steaming pile of what the actual fuck?
And the less said about this morning, probably the better, except that apparently I'm now the most attractive dog chew toy in the entirity of Kent. And by "dog chew toy" what I actually mean is "I am a dog and I dislike these shenanigans, so therefore I am going to sink my teeth into some part of e-cat in an attempt to make her bleed over everything." Not that there was actual bleeding over everything, because as clumsy an accident prone as I may otherwise be, I totally have veterinary nurse reflexes. Alas, I also have some new and interesting bruises. Le sigh.

16. How do you support your themes? How do you make sure your language reflects them, and how do you decide whether something belongs in the plot or the theme category?
To a large part I...don't? See, this question makes me feel really bad (a similar kind of bad to how I felt after the first time I went to MJ and thought that a panel on writing humour would be a good idea. Apparently, I'm doing it wrong by just, well, having it happen), because I am so not that careful and dedicated writer who sits there agnosing over every perfect word choice. I write whatever comes into my head, often in run on sentences of doom, complete with endlessly nested tangents and only a vague nod towards readability (if you read DW or LJ, or anywhere else that I'm stream-of-consciousness, you may well have noticed this). It's like I have a little narrative soundtrack in my head jsut spouting out the story, and my fingers have varying amounts of success in keeping up.
I am also not the writer who sits there agonising over sentence structure in beta. I mean, I change stuff, sure. But that's mainly a case of putting in punctuation and coralling thoughts/phrases into as few sentences as possible, rather than letting them run rampant.
Apart from that, the stuff I write just...happens? Sorry?
17. What's the best piece of writing advice you've gotten?
Use of semicolons. For serious. And I still totally get it wrong a lot of the time, but at least I'm aware of that these days?

16 - Summaries - Do you like them or hate them? How do you come up with them, if you use them?
I like having summaries, sure. Who doesn't? As for coming up with them: I sometimes reort to pulling a line of fic (usually by a blind scroll and click method of guessing), but I think I'm actual getting to be okay at coming up with pithy little things these days? (fell more than free to disagree with me).
17 - Titles - Are they the bane of your existence, or the easiest part of the fic? Also, if you do chaptered fic, do you give each chapter a title, or not?
Sometimes they're the easiest (and, in fact, the bit that turns up first), and sometimes they're not, but they're never exactly a bane of my existence. I like to think that I do good title (hur hur hur). As for chaptered works, well, I've only done a couple, and one of those had chapter names, whereas the other has numbered chapters, but with phrases and/or subheadings. If you want consistency, you probably should read my stuff, especially no those bits of it that are blogs.

25 - Music - Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?

27 - Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?

Now, before I go to poke the coffee-walnut cake I'm baking, I feel the need to shout LISTEN TO THIS and gesticulate wildly in the direction of the Foo's new album Wasting Light. They recorded it in a studio they built in Dave Grohl's garage, you guys! There's guitars and rocking and drums and guitars and David Grohl's voice being auditory porn and guitars and--HEARTS. HEARTS IN MY EYES.
