(no subject)
I don't think that I can make a poll because I'm not a paid member, but I have had a question on my mind since my parents died. My dad always tried to get me to read Asimov's Foundation Triology/Qintology and I tried to get him to read The Lord of the Rings.
I tried, I really did, to read the Foundation series but after about 3 pages I gave up. Continuously. Dad said that he tried to read LotR when it first came out and he didn't like it - too poetic. So I started wondering that if you liked one if would you like the other.
My poll was going to be something like this:
- I like The Foundation Series, but not LotR
- I like LotR, but not The Foundation Series
- I like both
- Why the heck isn't (the original) Dune in this poll?
- Other
Dune wasn't in here because my dad and I both liked it; he of course read it when it first came out.
