(no subject)
So I went to a free concert in the park last night (Dvorak). I was all excited. I went with my mom and when we got there there were thousands of people all with their picnic blankets and bottles of wine, mostly cheerful groups of twenty and thirty-somethings. I felt slightly out of place, more because I was there with my mom and not friends, but also I found that the whole concert, since it was outside and rather informal, was much more of a social event than actually listening to the music. I felt left out because I wasn't there to hang out with friends and be social and I couldn't even just be content listening to the music because people were being so loud everywhere. I think if I go back next year it will be with a picnic dinner and friends. Oh, and the fireworks that followed were half covered by trees from where we were sitting and not nearly as exciting as the ones on the forth of july.
