My exciting quote for the day:
(I took my laptop to the IT person at the seminary because randomly, last night, the screen became a massive plane of static)
"I've never seen anything like this. Do you have a warrenty?"
This makes me sad. I don't want my computer to die. She said my LCD is probably dead but yeah, now I have to call up Dell and make them make it better. (Thankfully my computer is still under warrenty, otherwise, bye bye paychecks for the rest of the summer.)

So after spending an hour and a half with lovely people at Dell (and their on hold muzac), they didn't really tell me anything. I'm pretty sure we determined that (as had been suspected) my LCD screen died. I can connect my laptop with an external monitor and it seems fine, so yay for not losing everything that was on my computer. So now I just get to wait a couple of days for a Dell Technition to call me and then come and fix my screen (ie replace it). On the bright side, maybe I'll finally get rid of that nasty little line in the middle of my screen (which managed to persist even through the static).
