Back in Poland
I'm back in Poland for Christmas, looking forward to a proper Polish Christmas dinner tomorrow evening. Mostly looking forward to the wild mushroom soup... the other dishes are all great, but the wild mushroom soup...
Ahem.
It's good to be back. I lived here for a third of my life, and there's a lot of good memories here.
I'm also on holiday with no proofreading or translation work to do. That hasn't happened in years. Even when we all went to Hawaii for a week, I had to work a few of the days. Now that I'm not self-employed anymore (and I'll never get sick of hearing myself say that), I can have a real holiday.
So, Poland. Picture deep snow in the gardens, piles of snow in every gutter, thick winter fog, and wild mushroom soup cooking on the stoves.
