Scent memory.

I lit some candles tonight, among them one that I'd never used before. The scent reminds me of America for some reason - scent memory is such an incredible thing. The only thing I don't understand is why it makes me think of my time in South Carolina, when I didn't have candles over there. I can't figure it out ( Read more... )

I´m always interested in the people who make the short list, just to see how much better are they.
Ummm, will it sound very conceited if I say that I am not sure if they were actually better than me? ;) (Though of course I don't know them. But well, I'm an arrogant bitch, as we've already established.)

I have made the resolution to write more original stuff. Maybe I will send some stuff out, yes, once I write something that I consider good enough, and once I figure out where to send stuff like that.

Ok, when it comes to buying sheets, I shall turn to her for wisdom. :D

It's romance, but romance with a twist. It's really a rather nice book and I definitely recommend reading it before the movie.

I'm sorry, but... probably not, hehe. If anyone has that claim, it's Dru, because she'd practically forced me to buy Lush stuff while I was in London. Though I don't think I'm a convert, actually - I don't care that much for their products, I still think many of them are awfully expensive, especially since they don't actually make much (or any) difference for me. Like, my skin hasn't improved or anything - but then again, I don't think I have terribly problematic skin. It doesn't make a difference what brand I use. But I like the smell of some of their products and the packaging of some of them is very handy - I like the facial toners; I have a smaller bottle and a large one, and whenever I travel, I can just pour some of it into the tiny bottle... Same goes for the other products for the face - I like that you can just take a small amount with you in a tin box or something. I only have a sample of the fig soap, but I might buy it once I've used it up - it smells so nice and clean and pure.
(Don't beat me, but I really am not that big about the whole 'no animal testing' and 'environmentally sound' thing they have going on. I don't really think about these things when I buy cosmetics.)

um, how belated is this reply? Let´s not look, shall we.

Actually, I just wanted to respond to the last bit...

Alright, alright, I totally wanted to take credit for Lush. Fiiine. :P I have to say though I appreciate you saying it like it is, always. I agree totally that it´s very expensive but I still love a lot of the products enough to get them, anyway - it´s often a hit or miss, though.
A lot of people wouldn´t admit to not really caring about the environmental and moral issues when it comes to cosmetics and you know what, it´s refreshing to hear that so I´m definitely not beating you ;) Much as I´d like to say otherwise, it´s not my number one concern when buying toiletries or groceries, either. What have I been trying is to be healthier - quit processed foods, get better toiletries and cosmetics to finally get my skin to behave, limit the amount of chemicals in my body but it is ultimately all selfish concerns, yeah?
