You know, sometimes I really hate Moscow. It can be so damn frustrating in so many ways. I need to buy a few cosmetics/drug store items. I've been postponing it, looking at things, but not buying.
So today I decided to go skating. Then, on my way there, I changed my mind, because my legs feel too tired (thank you, one-foot crouches). I wanted to practice before my session with Yulia tomorrow, but I figured that if I did, I'd be all dead tomorrow.
Since I was on the purple line, I got out at Proletarskaya and went to this huge drug store. It became a lot suckier since 2006, I already knew that, but it's still better than most other cosmetics shops I know. (And cheaper.)
I need a new cover stick/corrector - the only ones I could find in the stores nearby were a corrector pencil (which I didn't like) and a L'Oréal one in the wrong tone that was almost 10€. I don't want an expensive one, because it's just not worth it. (Have I mentioned how I hate that L'Oréal is considered a fucking luxury brand, or almost luxury brand, here?)
Anyway, the stupid big drug store only had a few, mainly in the wrong colors, or they just had the tester and nothing else... So in the end I ended up picking up a really cheap corrector pencil, thinking: what the hell, I'll just get this for now and then buy a new one at home. I go to the counter to pay and the girl is like: "Oh, I can't sell you this because the bar-code is not legible, you must have picked up a tester." And I'm like no, it's not a tester, it's the only one in this color that was there. Well, she was very unfriendly - as if it was my fucking fault that the products they sell aren't properly labeled/so old the labels have smeared off. And you know, had this happened in a country that actually has heard the word customer service, the girl would go look at the price tag on the shelf or gone to pick up another one of those pencils to read the bar code instead of scowling at me. I rolled my eyes and left, slightly mad because I'd just wasted half an hour for nothing.
The other item I need is a facial cleanser/tonic, as I ran out of my Vichy one. I wanted to buy the same again, but I think I won't, because it's more expensive here in Moscow. Also, I don't know if it actually makes any difference what you use. Anyway, what bugs me is the slight lack of selection here. I'm thinking about getting L'Oréal, since I bought their Happy Skin creme and I like it, but they don't have a cleanser that goes with that?!
Anyway, I was going to go to the drug store nearby, but when I got off the metro at my home station, it was raining, so I just ran home and I'm sitting here being tired of Russia a little bit.
In other news, I really do not enjoy sending out applications for internships. It's so annoying. Now I need to write to that person in Beijing, when I'd be available (well, I wrote it in my application letter, idiot, would you please read it?!), whether I have any questions concerning the position...
The other annoying thing is looking for apartments in France. I found one, it's not far from the school, I'd be sharing a 3-room flat with a 31-years-old lady, rent is 400€/month including all the charges AND internet - that's quite reasonable for Lille. I've seen pictures of the flat and it looks neat. I told her that I'll probably move in and that I'll get back to her once I know details - she hasn't responded to that last e-mail yet, I don't know if she's going to? I hope Sarah & Steffi won't be mad at me that I won't be living with them - it's hard to find apartments for 3 people, anyway. I haven't told them yet.
Sigh, today is one of my "I hate people" days, it seems.
Anyway, I think I'll have to drag my ass to the center or something - there's a drug store I know of on Arbat, I think. There might be some on the Tverskaya, too? I don't knowww. I also want some new book to read. I'm nearly done with Plushenko's book, I started reading Wild Swans by Jung Chang last night, but I'm not impressed so far. I kinda want the next part of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, but I doubt I'll find it here in Moscow. Well, I still have the collection of Pushkin's work in Russian that I borrowed from Lena - I've always wanted to try to read Eugene Onegin in the original.
The weather seems nicer now, so maybe the walk will be nice, after all. I'd originally wanted to go someplace fun, like VDNX, but now that I need hunt for beauty products...
