We're going this way that way forwards and backwards...
It's been a while, I don't know why. Blame George Bush (well, why not!)
Last weekend was rather hectic yet rather wonderful. Kate navigated her way down to the West Country, found me and then we went and surprised Jen! That may sound simple but it did involve remembering the exact location of Jen's house in the ghetto that is Bristol - we didn't get lost once! Naturally once we got there Jen giggled a lot and we enjoyed our Mini Mzungu reunion despite being in such different surroundings. Kate always supplies some classic quotes... for example: 'Wow! Look at all the grass!' Well maybe you had to be there. It was all going swimmingly until some shots of Apple Sours brutally reminded us of Jen's allergy to Vodka (yes really - I'm going to have to make her a badge for uni). We did make it to The Academy and Ramshackle, where Bloc Party graced us with their presence on the decks. As the music was pretty good there was lots of dancing around and getting far too hot, though I really enjoyed it (they played Interpol!)
The ride back to Jen's reminded us precisely how far we'd hiked into town in the first place, but once we got back we started a huge trip down memory lane which lasted until it started to get light again! I miss my Mzungus.
Despite not drinking anything alcoholic after the Apple Sours incident Jen was probably the poorliest person ever(TM) the next day so Kate and I did what we could before hitting the road again in style! The rest of the weekend blurs into a tired haze but since I was working it was probably the usual story of flip flops and sales. Riveting.
Monday still technically counts as a 'day off' seeing as I didn't work till 6.30pm. I looked for a way to rebel and then found myself in PJ's all day, watching an early morning edition of Postman Pat.
