I wrote this long-ass entry on my netbook but copying would be such a hassle, long story short, it's sorta broken, but that's okay. I'll just write it again. I just want an excuse to vent my The Innocent Man feelings.

So anyway, these are the dramas I've watched recently (well, not so recently for some of them, but I hadn't commented here, only @mydramalist)

Arang and the Magistrate: I feel like the later episodes had way too much filler and melo, and it could have been done better in 16 episodes instead of 20. I still gave it 4/5 stars though. I loved the mythology and the mystery.

The Thousandth Man: it was really cute. Hyomin was so cute, and Woohyun, and Lee Chun Hee. Basically everyone.

Dal Ja's Spring & The Return of Iljimae & Faith: dropped & dropped & tried to follow through recaps after dropped in ep 8 but could only manage to read 2 before dropping recaps as well. 1st, it was cute but Lee Min Ki can't act and it's really distracting (well at least back then he couldn't act, I thought he was okay in Shut Up Flower Boyband). Therefore I have no interest in the main pairing, and the story is just ok... not enough for me to stay for 22 episodes. 2nd, it looks cheap and frankly there are better historical dramas out there, plus the girl is the same main heroine from Twelve Men in a Year and her voice annoys me. Well, Twelve Men in a Year was annoying as a whole so maybe that had something to do as well... 3rd, it was really, REALLY boring. As much as I like Lee Min Ho is like he wasn't even trying here. If he wanted to challenge himself with a historical drama role, he should've been a prince or something. Also the story was boring and I wasn't interested in the political part. If I wanted to watch a political sageuk, I'd have picked a legit one, not Faith.

I Need Romance 2: I thought it would be better than the first season but it got blah and cliché too fast. Sook Hyun annoyed me with his attitude, it's as if he expected Yeol Mae to read his mind. The supporting characters and their stories fell flat, especially in comparison to S1 supporting characters, and the story felt sloppy. Now I think I should've actually given it 2 stars instead of 3.

Beloved: it was nice, and angsty and funny and realistic, except when it got sadface and angsty. I still enjoyed it, just wish it hadn't been just sadness sadness sadness in the later part.

So, I'm watching The Innocent Man/Nice Guy now, and I'm planning to start Rascal Sons (I actually watched half an episode yesterday) and Fugitive, which alphabetically is the next one in my older-dramas-to-watch list.

Anyway, THE INNOCENT MAN.

I'm actually bracing myself for the worst, after reading about the writer's previous dramas. 90% Jae Hee+ Maru, Jae Hee+Maru+Eun Gi or Maru will die, and you know what, I'm going to hate it. I ship Eun Gi and Maru so hard, they have to be togetherrrr!! I don't care if it isn't a happy and fluffy together with 9 kids because that's not realistic for them, but they have to be dramatically together somehow, I don't care if it's a year later or whatever. I would've be more optimistic if Maru had his shit goes down health-wise moment by the end of episode 16, but now I just feel they're leaving it for the finale or pre-finale, to make it as dramatic and ill-timed as possible. So far the drama has been a good ride although I have to admit I'm not here for Amnesiac Eun Gi. I don't get why they changed her personality and made her all nice, pure and Innocent with light makeup and light manicure as oppossed to Red Lady Jae Hee. I know it says Amnesia in the drama summary but I don't read summries beforehand (because they have spoilers like that one). What's good and interesting about an Innocent Girl falling for a Guy with a Dark Heart anyway. I like her rude, arrogant and bitchy, and rude, arrogant, bitchy and crazy in love. Having her innocent and naive is so standard and it lasted for way too many episodes (good thing she's back, it seems). Aside from that, I've enjoyed it and it hasn't gotten draggy to me. Of course that doesn't really matter since 95% I'll hate the ending anyway. Whatever.

Also, I don't understand how Jae Hee ended up being like that, from being the reporter girl fighting for justice to this. I guess that's sort of the point... but anyway, is the former hard-working, self-made girl really happy with being a trophy wife to a haraboji, dressing like and ahjummah, with everyone looking down on her, I don't get it, she's like a completely different person. Maru changed too I guess, but maybe I can accept his turning to the dark side a little better because we saw more of him and his story at the beginning, to understand where he's coming from. Maybe if I saw more of Jae Hee (like the process of her meeting Taesang Group chairman, being lured by the money after so much hardship and so on) I'd understand her better. Although when she first called Maru to the motel she striked me as those needy emotional vampire types, who always get in trouble and want someone else to fix their mess for them.. not that I don't understand why she called him (she was afraid and she's not selfless or perfect enough to call, idk, 911 or the police) but I can see a bit how this character trait could have evolved into full manipulative and needy. Director Ahn annoys me so much though, GOD he's the worst.

So yeah, I just wish Amnesia that Makes People Nice didn't exist but whatever... there's still 4 episodes left, let's see how it goes. Maru kind of reminds me of a male Eun Jo in some ways (from Cinderella's Sister). Also, Eun Gi reminds me of a female Maru now... lol

I'm also watching Gossip Girl, which sucks, and Hart of Dixie, which is alright.

I actually liked the season premiere. It reminded me of the old Gossip Girl (minus the gag inducing + stale Chuck/Blair moments) and Georgina and Dan were awesome. It sucked that they just swept Serena's behavior towards Blair in the previous season under the rug, and now she's all self righteous ~trying to leave behind negative stuff, as if bitch, everything you got was your own fault. And she's even trying to lecture Blair lmao But I liked the episode anyway. Eps 2 and 3 sucked, on the other hand. Especially with how they're trying so hard to push Chuck and Blair as the Destined to Be Together couple using tell-and-not-show tactics. "Oh I just need someone who can read my mind" *Bad Hair Chuck enters with a smirk* /zomggggg he's the only one who can read her mind/ barf? "we need each other" "a gentleman bla bla I fell asleep" why are they trying so hard, really. As if saying it will make it more convincing and less boring.

Hart of Dixie is nice although nothing special (well actually none of the tv shows I watch are lmao. Except maybe GoT but s2 minus Blackwater sucked, so.) Wade is way better than George, but it's obvious they're pushing Zoe/George as tru luf). I'm on episode 10 now

Also, I've been reading a lot recently (compared to before, that is)

The Last Guardian: sucked. It is the worst Artemis book for me, it was soulless and it lacked funny dialogue, and it kinda pissed me off that Juliet was there but she wasn't. Like. come on, this is the last book. It's like it wasn't even trying, like the author just wanted to get it done.

Feed by Mira Grant: was interesting. I even read all the novellas and the alternate ending (which was weaker than the actual ending imo) and I like that it doesn't have gratuitous zombie gore every 2 pages despite being a zombie book. I'm reading the second book now.

Foundation by Isaac Asimov: It's interesting but I just know I won't read the 283 Foundation books out there. I tried to start Dan Simmons's Illium but I converted it to .lit and now the format is all weird, I got a headache and dnw feelings after 2 pages.

The Casual Vacancy: was great. The first ~100 pages are boring but it got interesting and I really liked the characters. It was really depressing though.

Arabella: it was alright. I thought it was predictable and kind of cliché though, I think I'll read The Great Sophy next... eventually.

Blackout: I've only read a couple chapters but it's good so far. I'm also reading The Night Life of the Gods (which reads like a comedy from the 1930s) and American Gods, but I don't remember where I'm at, because it's been so long and the bookmark was lost.

And I think that's all.

libro: the casual vacancy, tv: hart of dixie, kdrama: i need romance 2, libro: arabella, tv: gossip girl, kdrama: beloved, libro: feed, libro: artemis fowl, libro: foundation, kdrama: the innocent man, kdrama: dal ja's spring, kdrama: the return of iljimae, kdrama: arang and the magistrate
