Hannibal

Just wondering: is anyone else watching Hannibal? I've seen the first two episode. It's fascinating - a lot like a train crash - you can't look away, yet you're apppalled at the same time. Pretty dark. I was suprised to hear Lecter quote The Medusa Touch (a movie with Richard Burton and Lino Ventura).

I like how Will Graham is similar to Will Petersen in Manhunt, the first Hannibal Lecter movie (where HL had a small role, and which had a super soundtrack). But for me Jack Crawford will always look like Scott Glenn. :)

I actually managed to go to the movies the other day. We saw Oblivion. I enjoyed it, even though I saw most of the mayor plot twists coming from miles away. Still, the visuals were great, the story clever-ish, with some clunky exposition but good ideas, and I still enjoy watching Tom Cruise (guilty pleasure).

We also watched the Hobbit, as soon as our Bluray arrived. Love love love the opening half hour, the one that some reviewers claimed was too slow. Idiots! Don't they know that I could watch the Dwarves eat and sing and do the dishes for hours?!
The same way I could watch a Firefly episode where nothing happens except daily stuff like cooking, working out, playing funny ball etc. *sigh*

Seeing that Veronica Mars will get a movie sequel thanks to kickstarter - YAY! (and I really hope they'll somehow include poor Weevil) - maybe we should crowdfund a movie set in the Firefly universe? I'd pay good money!

*sigh*
