Between a rock and a hard place...

October 27th the German translation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows hits the bookstores. All the major bookstores will be holding Harry Potter parties on the 26th with fancy dress and with public readings from the books. One minute after midnight the new book will be available. I have just been asked to read at the big Thalia bookstore in neighbouring town Wolfsburg. The pay is good, but mostly I'd be thrilled to be part of such an event.

Unfortunately, October 27th is the day where my daughters and Mr. E are dancing in a traditional Irish Dance competition, a so-called Feis, in Holland. I am expected to go with them. I didn't go last year, but I was there the year before. It's not a huge competition, I'm bored most of the time and it's not cheap, but it's nice to cheer the girls (and other members of our dance club) when they receive medals and trophies.

Can't decide. *bangs head on desk*

I mean, Harry Potter!! I looove reading to kids. This would be so great. Plus, it's bound to be the last HP party - and I never made it to one of these events before....
