A weekend of recording songs with my "twin"

Mar 15, 2010 21:43

I am absolutely shattered after a full weekend of recording with Mart for the Anniversary Circle album!

I never thought singing could be this tiring! :-) I had to pour so many emotions into the interpretation that I feel somehow emotionally empty but at the same time clean from any dark emotions. The cathartic effect of music for you!

It was a very intense weekend but very enjoyable and brilliant at the same time. One of the most comical moments of all was this dialogue:
"Mart what's the name of your bus stop?"
"Common House"
"Common House, are you sure?"
"Well just like the sausages"
"Ah! You mean CUM-BER-LAND House. Ok!"

Mobile+Yorkshire twang = recipe for comical situations :-)

Another great moment was playing the dulcimer on one of the tracks! Sometimes guitarists forget that the world of music isn't only made of guitar chords!

Each time, I talk to M. and I am always remembered how much we are alike. It is a bit like another you and the faders on the console are on different slider positions. Amusingly we even share a liking for black patent shoes and a hatred for carpet! M. is truly my hidden "twin"!

I am very much fired up for some song writing and improving my music skills especially in the realm of keyboard & piano. I have found a great music teacher who is very affordable!

Tonight, I have started to find out the notes to be able to play "Saturated Feathers" on the piano.

More music & writing, yeah!
