What I Like

I bought an ant farm at Christmas time, but it wasn't humane to ship the ants while it was freezing, so I sent for the ants a few weeks ago and they came on Saturday and they are creepy cool. They're harvester ants and can sting and bite, so I pray to whatever/whomever, they do not escape their nuclear green gel enclosure:

On the first day, some of the ants didn't survive the shipping process and I was contemplating getting some tweezers and pulling their little corpses out of the farm, but then I noticed the live ants collecting the dead ones and putting them off in a corner. Such tidy, efficient little creatures!

I really like actor Gaspard Ulliel. REALLY LIKE HIM. I get crushes on actors all the time, but once in a while I go really wacko over someone and the actor usually A. has a weird name B. is from a foreign country, therefore, has a hot accent or C. is somewhat obscure and it's hard to find their work. Gaspard fits all of these categories.

He's exquisite. And somewhat awkward. I loff him. <3

Something I do not like lately are movies. I haven't seen a good movie in forever. All I ask, is to be entertained. I want Hollywood to burn. It's so bad that I've had to resort to reading actual BOOKS. I used to read constantly, before the internet. I'm back to reading and it's so enjoyable. Books are good. What I've read in the last few weeks:

The Other Boleyn Girl: I got interested in this due to The Tudors on Showtime. It was sooooo much better than that uneven miniseries, but I think the author was a bit harsh in her portrayal of Anne Boleyn. Apparently the book has been made into a movie starring Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and Eric Bana.

The Twilight Series: I picked this book because Gaspard is always talked up as being perfect for the role of Edward, a vampire in the story. Dun DUN DUN! Gaspard. Vampire. I loved this book, despite the fact it is young adult (aka teen) fiction and the author took all sorts of liberties redefining the vampire myth. I was all over this book. I couldn't put it down. I read the second in the series called New Moon and it wasn't as good as Twilight, and I'm convinced it's because Edward was only in 1/3 of the storyline. Bait and switch I tell ya. The third book in the series, Eclipse, comes out in August.

I love Bath and Body Works' Black Raspberry Vanilla. It's like the kinder, gentler (cheaper) version of Christian Dior's Poison, that I wore like a whore in my teens and twenties.

Finally, macros. Especially cat macros. My gawd, that stuff is funny. You have to wallow through a lot of bad ones to find a good one, but they crack me up. I think the fad has peaked, but as far as fads go, macros are made of win.

Some people hate macros. So, in the interest of science--a poll:

Poll Macros!
