Mik took me on a proper date!

Mik and I hit the big city and took in a matinee of 'Rhinoceros Eyes'. Our local movie reviewer gave it only 1/2 a star and said it was a freak show. LOL It was indeed a freak show...but I really liked it ( Read more... )

Weirdness, I was obsessed with the 'Flowers in the Attic' books in junior high, too. LOL.

Kindred spirits... :D

I remember my mom used to buy them for me, until a neighbor tipped her off to what the plot was. She was so mad at me. I was supposed to be a good Mormon girl, you know? ; )

Oooh, pretty pics! I saw Rhino Eyes twice. I liked it a lot. I thought it was quite a funny movie, in a dark, macabre sort of way. And Gale looked absolutely gorgeous.

I was giddy it was shown anywhere near me. I live in the middle of *nowhere* (Utah) and despite having to drive for an hour to Salt Lake, I finally got to see Gale on the big screen.

Rhino Eyes was a clever little film and I just might email our stupid local movie reviewer and tell him to cram his half star review up his ass. ; )

I agree with 'funny in a dark macabre sort of way'. I laughed out loud quite a few times.

ah, but you made it sound as if I didn't like the movie! I did, I just thought it was lacking in some bits. (because I'm evil and hard to please.) What bit do they hug in? (the photo that you have up.) Can't believe I missed that...

I really want to live in that house, and have labyrinthine book shelves and pretty mirrors, and window rooms that look across to each other. *sigh*

What is rhinoceros eyes about? I have not seen it talked about here in the media, or anything.

What bit do they hug in? (the photo that you have up.) Can't believe I missed that...I wonder if that isn't just a publicity still? I remember when they got wet in the rain and he handed him that flowery robe, but don't remember the cutesy hug ( ... )

Maybe it was just a publicity still. I remember the wet rain scene too, but I sort of vaguely remember that there was all this...tension in that scene, and that they stood very far away from each other the whole way through. You know I think I need to see this movie again, and I need to be alone. I've developed a bad habit of only being able to properly see a movie when I'm by myself. (Have to get rid of that one...)

I don't know what movie it was trying to be either. I think it was also being historical and philosophical. It was a schizophrenic movie. It was everything. I always over-analyze too...

rhinoceros eyes - what an odd idea for a movie! Now I'm curious...

(love the icon, by the way...)

Glad you liked Rhino Eyes. I've seen it three times and I like it better each time I see it. I thought it was absurdly hysterical and moving at other times.

And Michael Pitt...guh! LOVE HIM! :D

I thought Gale's part in the movie was really charming, for a supporting role. I'd love to see some cut scenes or bloopers.
Bring on the DVD!

I want to see it! :( actually I think its quite sad that its getting bad reviews etc because it means I have even less of a chance to view it, although I think its being shown in Paris sometime so might check it out.

I want to see Wake!
