Mik and I hit the big city and took in a matinee of 'Rhinoceros Eyes'. Our local movie reviewer gave it only 1/2 a star and said it was a freak show. LOL It was indeed a freak show...but I really liked it.
The actual plot was a bit weak, but there was always something interesting to look at. *coughGale/MichaelPittcough*
I stole a postcard similar to this ('cept it had Gale's name listed on it) off the wall of the loo:
Mik and I were 2 of only 4 people in the theater! And the indie theater we went to was running a two for one special, practically begging people to go. :)) We bought a popcorn to share and were a bit surprised that it was just plain white popcorn without the dayglo yellow popcorn salt on it. Strangely, it tasted really good that way. We even got to see a preview of Ewan McGregor's movie 'Young Adam'.
Gale was fab in the film. His role wasn't very big, but it was spread out throughout the movie so it seemed bigger. He looked good. Duh!
Gale as Detective Barbara:
It was kind of a Mike Pitt weekend, because last night I watched 'The Dreamers'.
Wet, boy-touching goodness:
I liked this film (at least more than
darketherdream did, I think), despite not really knowing what the movie was trying to say. It was quite pervy, with a storyline involving semi-incestuous twins which borderline squicked me and intrigued me at the same time, no doubt left over from my jr. high obsession with the 'Flowers in the Attic' series of books. ; ) ; )
It was a gorgeous film with pretty things and people to look at. Great clothes and music too! I'm usually turned off by narcissistic, pretentious characters, but it somehow all came together in a way that didn't make me want to shoot the characters.
And it had a pretty boy in a flowery robe (made me think of Gale's lacy robe in 'Wake'):
Tomorrow night, Jonny in 'Lion in Winter' and 406. :D!!!
