POI: S2E3 Picspam or: Who's the Dog?
eee! So, obligatory picspam post because I'm over the moon for POI, seriously can't wait for the next episode. My god, this show *is* fanfic, what with the kidnappings and the flashbacks and the offers of *beer*. The last time I was this excited about a show was when SGA was still on the air. (Oh, *show*, I miss you so.)
S2E3, Masquerade: new credits!
First of all, when Finch shows up it's obvious he hasn't been to the library in a couple of days and Reese is all worried and plotting to locate Root and show her that ulnar nerve trick tuck her away in a Mexican prison with mealy-worm cuisine and no internet access for, like, the next eighty years.
"Harold, wanna get a beer sometime?"
This is Harold's "I'm perfectly fine" face. Oh, wubbie.
That's okay, though, because Reese has acquired a protector for Finch in the form of Bear, who isn't a great conversationalist but, direct quote from Reese, "Anyone ever messes with you, he'll eat 'em." Oh, Reese.
The new number is Sophia, spoiled daughter of a Brazilian diplomat. Sophia treats her bodyguards like dogs. Reese is auditioning for the part, and Finch has to buy up a security company and a credit union for him to pass the rigid background checks.
"I will try to make you proud," says Reese.
I have a feeling this is not far from the truth, no matter how speciously he said it.
Sophia grows on Reese as the case goes on, though, just like Bear grows on Finch. It's an awesome parallel.
Bear keeps distracting Finch with his leash.
Sophia tells Reese his hair is trying too hard.
By the time Finch condescends to pick up and throw the slimy dog ball:
Reese is acting as a clothing rack during a shopping spree:
Finch tries to go outside and has a panic attack. ;_; He tells Reese he's "having a bit of a problem." Reese tells him not to worry, he'll get Fusco to watch Sophia.
The case heats up: Sophia's friend Gabi is found dead, and Sophia holds herself responsible, saying she was looking for something at all those parties she's been dragging Gabi to. She's felt lost for a long time. Reese tells her he'd spent some time feeling lost, and she asks him what changed.
"Someone found me," he says.
"Sounds like a good friend."
"He is."
Finch is listening.
::dies::
Reese calls in Fusco to protect Sophia. When Sophia is at the party, Finch calls him to touch base. Check out Fusco's cell screen:
eee! I wonder what the caller id is for Reese.
Carter \o/ and Reese go on the hunt for this Monty character who is still after Sophia. Reese goes in first alone to clear out the riff-raff. The time estimate of 10 guys in 4 minutes rounds out to...lessee, Reese would've had to have cracked a head every 24 seconds. That's not a lot of time. It's not surprising Carter got bored waiting in the car and came in to kneecap that guy.
Even if she didn't declare herself NYPD first. And then Reese starts in with the calling cheater about how the one guy hit him with the neon sign, and how unsportsmanlike that was. I swear, what a baby.
Meanwhile Sophia, as if no one at all has just murdered her best friend and is threatening her life, sneaks away from her bodyguard to hook up with her slimy boyfriend. The result is predictable. Fortunately, Fusco is there to save the day and literally throw his body in front of the gun. I swear I love this brave little toaster thing he's got going, even knowing he went dirty back when.
And now we pause for a moment of sheer appreciation for bone structure:
Seriously, I don't think the director him/herself knows why they put this shot in there.
In the end, the slimy boyfriend is dangled off the balcony in a satisfactory manner (and I mean Reese seemed to be particularly gleeful) before Reese returns to the library to coax Finch out for that beer.
And Finch goes! With Bear on his left and Reese on his right, they go for a walk. But,
"Does it have to be beer?" Finch says.
And Reese smiles. With teeth!
awwww, man.
