so, yesterday in Systems we were discussing having to buy more/bigger disks for the Archive, while projecting the rate of PORN filling our db versus available diskspace, and ditto for the Fanlore/Journal/Symposium server, and, you know, these things cost money, people! you can't just keep collecting stuff and posting stuff and not have places to put the bytes!
the Org is having a Membership Drive, and the cool thing about being a member is that you are one of us, and there's nifty shwag, and you can vote and have a voice. but the other cool thing is whenever you post a comment or kudos or work or piece of history, you know those bits are being placed into a server, and being backed up, on systems you helped pay for. and that's gold. *we* own the servers. together.
$10 U.S. c'mon, that's cheaper than a bikini wax (ouch).
