Katy got up late, but with a scheme for us to all take a family Sunday drive to Jim's hometown, Mt. Morris. We managed to leave by 12:30, drove out, stopping for gas and a quick McDonald's break, and then did a short hike in White Pines State Park- we took the high road, btw, as the fords weren't closed, but were very high! Anyway, we still had time to stop in at Lenny's and to have a picnic supper by the river on the way home. Katy and I walked around the town square while Jim was doing the first part of the visit, so they were about finished by the time we arrived. Jim did the hike fairly well, and I was glad to get him out of the house and moving. It was cloudy, but quite warm there, and the rain held off for the entire trip.
When I booted up, 'tho, I got the news that my Aunt Audrey passed away yesterday afternoon. This is not surprising news, and I have to believe she is in a place of comfort and rest now, but it is sad just the same. Her daughter has had a hell of a year with her husband having died not quite 2 months ago, and now her mother.
