When I was in Japan, there were these two chicks from Taiwan. We couldn't communicate with them in English and Japanese wasn't best when they were trying to explain something to us so I actually ended up listening to Chinese a lot (So did the Indian chick that came with us and the other chick from France - she said she thinks that when she goes back to France, it would be Chinese she'd miss listening to the most).
And I had my first dream where everything was in Chinese over there. O_o I woke up thinking: Did I just have my first dream about Jrockers but speaking in Chinese?!!!
It was really weird too since I dreamt I was Masa deliving TEA to Mana in the middle of the night using a YELLOW scooter. _O_
it was a relief readint this, because i thought i was the only one who had speaking problems. it gets annoying how i switch from english then to spanish then to french (and some japanese too) without even realizing it. but the thing we must realize is that we're polyglots, and hey, we spretty much beat out alot of the other people in the world for being able to speak more than 2 languages. hell, this even happens to me when i think. this is gonna sound clsed-minded of me, but ive never met a cantonses or mandarin speaking person. from what ive heard, it sounds like it can be confusing, so props to you for trying to balance them with english!
And since to you, you can understand it and sometimes the line between what word belongs to what language gets blurry and you just can't for the life of you, remember what language that phrase belongs to. But to you, you understand it so it makes perfect sense to you but when others who can't understand it come into the picture, you get pinned as a nut. XDD
And haha, I remember once how I was talking to my dad in Catonese (I was trying to translate something from English to Cantonese) and I was talking in Cantonese but then suddenly in the middle of the sentence for one phrase, I switched to Mandarin and I didn't realise it then switched back to Cantonese and ended the sentence. XD My dad was like: um... what?
And I couldn't for the life of me, remember how to say that phrase in Cantonese. My mind just blanked and could only remember it in Mandarin. XDD
