You know... I didn't really realise this before, but when I get REALLY tied like dead shit tired, I get really confused.

I usually think in English because I was brought up with friends who even though they speak Chinese, speak in English anyway.

But when I get really tired, my mind does this funky thing where it goes off on this language explosion. Meaning in one sentence, I change languages from English - Mandarin - Cantonese. And since I've been studying Japanese, I often get snippets of thoughts IN JAPANESE too.

When I was much younger, I used to have this problem SPEAKING - not thinking, but speaking. Because to me, I understood Cantonese and English. I could speak both and my dad spoke Cantonese and my mother could speak English.

But since I grew up in Fiji, our neighbours were Fiji/Indians and guess what they spoke?!! It isn't that hard.

It wasn't a surprise when I picked up random phrases and spoke them while believing everyone ELSE knew. Besides, even Asians over there argued in Fijian.

So to me, I understood what I was saying but others who didn't understand couldn't.

I don't know at the moment whether it's a loss or a fortunate thing for me to lose the Fiji-Indian words... because I can tell you right now, my mind's little language explosion would be like a frikin World War in my head.

But what was really embarassing when I came here was when I used the word for 'crazy' people in Nauru uses. I seriously believed that that word was English since I was brought up with that word in constant use. _O_

Imagine the looks of confused kids standing there, gwaking at me.

But anyway, it happens all the time when I get really tied - not as much but still does when I'm not tired. Only, after that stage, my mind just goes quiet. It's like this blank... I don't think and can't seem to process things. =S
