Happy holidays to glowstarducky!!

Oishi hadn’t slept in nearly three days. His clothes were rumpled, eyes red, skin pale. His hair, which was longer in the front than the back continually fell into his eyes. After about the sixth time, he just left it there. He didn’t need to see to know where he was going. The train station was busy, people pushing to get to their destinations. He apologized to a man, two elderly women, a gaggle of teenagers and someone’s rolling luggage when he stumbled into each of them within moments of each other.

It was midday, not a time he wanted to travel anywhere, but the first mode of transportation out of Osaka had landed him back in Tokyo at the earliest possible time. This means that after completing finals, he hadn’t slept; instead, Oishi had been up most of the night bouncing around between bus and train, a small knapsack clutched in his hand.

He had heard from Taka-san via lengthy text messages that he wasn’t the only one coming back for winter break this year. From what he understood everyone was back, and they were all trying to figure out a way to meet up. After middle school, Oishi had left Seigaku going to another high school in Tokyo. He had remained close to all of his Seigaku classmates, Eiji especially. When his thoughts turned to the redhead, he couldn’t help but smile. They had remained exceptionally close, Eiji occasionally coming by to visit him when he could get away.

Oishi had first read about his friend’s success in the papers. Eiji had teamed up with a small gymnastics school, and after the first year of the school being open had sent a few students to compete and win at National level. When he had called Eiji out on it, the other man had talked excitedly for hours about upcoming plans and competitions.

“Oishi!”

He turned, looking for the source of the familiar voice. He grunted under the impact of a slim, leanly muscled man who collided with him. “Eiji.” Oishi dropped his bag, and hugged the other man back just as tight.

“You didn’t tell me you were coming in today. Good thing I checked with your mom.” Eiji had let him go, and rocked on his heels as he spoke, hands waving in the air. “You promised. You said you’d tell me when you were getting in, so I could greet you at the train station.” Each word was punctuated with a finger jabbing into Oishi’s chest.

“I wanted to surprise you.”

“Surprise me? You can’t surprise me. I know everything.” Eiji leaned in, blinking owlishly. Oishi laughed, and one handedly swiped the knit beanie from the other man’s head.

“Are you hungry? Do you want to grab something to eat first? Or go home, I know you probably want to go home you haven’t seen your family in a while. That’s why I wanted to meet you here, so I’d get to see you first. I mean I know they should get to see you first, but you’re Oishi.”

“Eiji.” Oishi tried, once, twice to get a word in. “I missed you too.” There was a strange sensation that moved through him when he said those words, but Oishi wasn’t too sure what to make of it. Eiji chattered happily, filling him in as they walked from the train station to a burger place not too far from Oishi’s home.

"Listen, your sister said she's going to have a sleepover while your parents are visiting some friends." Eiji had a tight grip on his elbow. Oishi grinned at the overwhelming excitement on the other man's face. "Get them settled, and then come by my apartment. I have bad movies, and good food. I'll bake a cake."

"You don't have to bake a cake." Oishi's shoulders were shaking with supressed laughter. "I will come by though." He reached out, pushing red hair out of Eiji's face. The brush of his fingertips against Eiji's skin sent a jolt through him, and he quickly withdrew his hand.

"I'm glad you're back." Eiji had him in a tight hug. Oishi could feel the strength in slender arms, feel the pound of Eiji's heart against his chest. His hair tickled under Oishi's chin, and it took everything he had to just hug him back. He could feel the color rising on his face, a little unsure as to why he was reacting this way to Eiji--who had been his best friend for years.

"I'll come by, I'll send a text okay?" Oishi managed to keep his voice steady and untangle himself from the other man. Eiji nodded and was already halfway down the walk. Oishi watched him go, and let himself into the house.

He spent the next few hours catching up with the family, his sister's cat curled up in his lap, refusing to move. His parents left after a few hours, and Oishi watched a movie with his younger sister. The movie played in the background, as Oishi grilled her about her friends, and the rumor that she had managed to find a boyfriend.

"I want to meet him." Oishi called as she went to the door to let one of her friends in.

"You can't!"

"I'll tell mom and dad." Oishi smirked. "Better yet, I'll tell Uncle."

"You wouldn't." She stared at him, eyes wide.

"Don't burn down the house." Oishi grinned, got off the couch. He ruffled her hair. "Call me if you need anything. I'm going to Eiji's for a little while."

"Have fun."

Oishi took the side streets, keeping in mind Eiji's new address. He climbed up the stairs, double checked the apartment number and knocked. From behind the closed door there was a thump, a few curses, and something that sounded suspiciously like Eiji hopping around. There was fumbling, the sound of locks being turned, and the door flung open.

"Hi." Eiji was breathless and flushed. He rubbed at his elbow, frown on his face. "I fell off the couch." As way of explanation. He held the door open for Oishi.

Oishi entered the apartment, Eiji closed the door behind him. Oishi toed off his shoes, and shrugged out of his coat, which Eiji took and disappeared with. The apartment was small, brightly lit and cluttered. Pictures in frames covered most of the available shelf space, and on the walls. Upon further inspection Oishi realized most of them were from various things he and Eiji had done together. There was a movie on the television, a low couch a few feet from it, a blanket tangled in a heap on the floor.

"Were you sleeping?" Oishi turned when he heard Eiji come into the main room.

"No. Yes." Eiji said. He sat on the couch, Oishi dropping down next to him. One of Eiji's legs sprawled over Oishi's. Eiji hit play on the remote, and the movie blared back to life. "How is everyone?"

"Good. The kid has a boyfriend. I need to find out who it is."

Eiji laughed wickedly. "I think all of her 'older brothers' need to meet him. Remind him to keep himself in his place."

"I don't want to terrify him, just scare him a little bit." Oishi's hand rested on Eiji's knee.

"That's no fun. My older brothers would always terrify my sister's boyfriends." Eiji moved closer to him, his leg between Oishi's.

Oishi tried to focus on the movie. The dialogue went in one ear and out the other. Scenes flashed before his eyes, Oishi only catching half of what was going on. His hand moved on it's own accord, sliding up and down Eiji's leg, fingers teasing over the man's knee. Eiji shifted again, moved closer, one arm moving behind Oishi, against his shoulders. Oishi held his breath, feeling the couch move for a third time, the brush of Eiji's lips against his cheek.

"Eiji?" His voice cracked. Oishi barely managed to tear his eyes from the flickering images on the television screen. He faced Eiji.

"Oishi?"

Barely an inch apart, Oishi could count the freckles on Eiji's nose. Eiji's lips were parted, breath brushing against Oishi's. Steadying himself, Oishi closed the distance between them, mouth clumsily colliding with Eiji's. They kissed, Oishi groaning when Eiji's hands slide into his hair. Eiji moved, legs straddling over Oishi's thighs, settling onto Oishi's lap.

Oishi pulled away, panting softly, hands already settled on Eiji's hips. It was so confusing, but at the same time made so much sense. There hadn't been anyone that had felt as right as this, no one that had fit so well against him, the way that Eiji settled against him. His heart pounded in his chest, and he struggled to make sense of it all, to come up with something that wasn't complete gibberish. Further questions left Oishi's mind when Eiji's mouth closed over his again. It felt so good, Oishi couldn’t help himself. His hands slid around Eiji's hips, cautiously rubbing up and down Eiji's back. He was rewarded with a soft groan, Eiji pressing closer. The hands in his hair tightened, the kiss deepening, turning into something more. The soft sweep of a warm tongue against his lower lip urged Oishi to open his mouth. Stars burst behind his eyelids, Oishi tipped his head back, feeling Eiji move as close as possible.

They separated, Eiji's face buried in the crook of Oishi's neck. He could feel the warm beat of Eiji's soft pants against his skin, raising goose bumps on Oishi's own skin. One hand was tangled in Eiji's hair, Oishi marveling at the silky texture as the red strands twisted in his fingers. The other was pressed to the small of Eiji's back, keeping the other man close. "Eiji?"

"I've always been curious." Eiji's lips brushed against Oishi's skin as he spoke. Oishi shivered, mentally willing himself to keep a tight hold on his own control. "Always curious about Oishi." A pause, Oishi's heart pounding hard against his ribs. "Haven't you?"

Oishi nodded, hand still moving through Eiji's hair. "Recently I have." It was the truth. He had thought about it in high school when he had come to realize exactly where his attractions lay. "But we've been friends…"

"That doesn't have to change, Oishi." Eiji lifted his head, meeting Oishi's gaze. "We'll always be friends. You know that." Eiji's hand was warm, fingers lacing with Oishi's as he moved Oishi's hand from his back. "Friend with benefits?" Eiji grinned crookedly.

"Eiji!" Oishi said, closed the space again, mouth closing over Eiji's. It was a light kiss, thought it left him wanting more. "We don't have to rush things." Another kiss, then another. Hand wandered, Oishi's fingertips skimming up Eiji's back under the man's shirt. Eiji's hands were busy unbuttoning Oishi's shirt.

"Eiji…" Oishi groaned softly. The kiss had broken, Eiji enthusiastically kissing his way down Oishi's neck, mouth teasing along his collar bone. "I can't think."

"Don't think." Eiji said. "Just do. You think too much, Oishi." To further emphasize his point there was the light scrape of teeth over his skin. Eiji pulled away, allowing Oishi to lift the thin t-shirt off of his frame and toss it aside.

Oishi touched, hands memorizing over the body that seemed so familiar to him. He had grown up with Eiji. They had done lots of stupid things together, lots of good things together. Their families were interchangeable, Eiji's loud and open, full of jokes and noise, where Oishi's was quieter, providing them a chance to escape from everything. They were at one point on top of the world together, they were invincible. They had fallen, risen from the ashes. Separated and then come together as if nothing had passed during the months they were apart. Eiji's skin was warm, muscles lean under his touch. There was a slow shudder that worked through the other man when Oishi's fingers brushed along Eiji's hip bone, continuing along the flat plane of his stomach.

There was nothing more that Oishi wanted right then, right there, than the man that was in his lap. Impulsively, he leaned forward, arms wrapped around the other man, face to Eiji's chest. Eiji's hand stilled, braced on Oishi's shoulders. "Eiji, I-"

"I know." Came the immediate response. "And we have all the time in the world. I'll always be here for you."
