Okay, so anyone who's known me knows that I play really, really weird combo decks when I play Magic that use some terrible cards (Door to Nothingness.dec, SlaveTrade, and GodoSMASH! being my last decks).
So when the Time Spiral cards were being spoiled, I zeroed in on one card: Ignite Memories. Why? Because
Now, I'm a sucker for the whole storm mechanic thing, and originally I wanted to do something U/G/r involving Thrumming Stone because, let's face it, that's another bad card that could work with Ignite. Of course, I've been out of the loop for a while and from what I'm reading there is a hell of a lot of control and aggro in the format, and this kinda thing doesn't work well with that, because Thrumming Stone is just a clunky card.
That's when I started hitting up the 9E spoilers and noticed that Seething Song had been reprinted. Cool beans. I also remembered there's that new mana accel spell in Coldsnap that gets better the more you've played or w/e, and it's also red, so I figure ditching the green is probably the best way to go about it.
So I've tinkered with it a bit and this is what I've got, loosely modelling it after my old Mind's Desire deck (but swapping out the green accel for red accel and changing cards for the newer "equivalents". Searched for cheap tutors (wru Merchant Scroll or the like), cheap card drawing, and cheap mana accel or filtering.
Here's what I have so far. I don't play much anymore, so someone tell me if this is viable or not. :p
Red - 15
4x Ignite Memories /// Kill card.
4x Seething Song /// Mana acceleration.
4x Rite of Flame /// Mana acceleration.
3x Wild Cantor /// Free storm counter, helps with colour fixing.
Blue - 15
4x Perilous Research /// Card draw for a permanent you won't really need.
4x Sleight of Hand *or* Whispers of the Muse /// Card draw. Not sure which I'd prefer. Sometimes digging two deep helps, sometimes it hurts.
4x Vision Skeins /// Card draw and fills their hand with some more viable targets -- tho it can get land.
3x Gigadrowse /// Pretty much what I used to use Early Frost for: preventing counters/damage negation. Also 1 for 1 Storm.
Black - 4
4x Infernal Tutor /// Pretty useful. Show a Seething Song/Memories to fetch another, or use it once your hand is empty to fetch a kill card.
Artifact - 10
4x Chromatic Star /// Mana filtering and card draw; works well with Perilous Research :)
4x Lotus Bloom /// Mana acceleration.
2x Dimir Signet /// Mana fixing/acceleration.
Land - 16
4x Blood Crypt *or* Sulfurous Springs /// Gives me red or black mana. Either works. Springs will be easier to get.
4x Gemstone Mine /// All three colours. If one ever runs out of counters, I'm losing anyway.
4x Steam Vents *or* Shivan Reef /// Gives me blue or red mana. Either works. Reefs will be easier to get.
4x Watery Grave *or* Underground River /// Gives me blue or black mana. Either works. Rivers will be easier to get.
Sideboard - Against control/discard?
4x Empty the Warrens /// Storm card that generates red creature tokens.

It looks interesting to me, because I love the Storm mechanic, and I like that there are two win outlets. I don't doubt it's been done but I really have no desire to read through and see what's out there.
Hopefully I can pick most of this up fairly cheap (or proxy some of it) and test it out.
