heh, one of my neighbors was leaving and talking on her cell phone and she said very loudly "ok, somebody's making some good coffee or baking or something because it smells really good in my hallway" and i started laughing and trying not to laugh loud enough for her to hear me because i have a pot of hazelnut coffee on and sugar cookie wax burning... I guess i hadnt thought about the fact that i was probably making the whole building smell tasty.
i love the way fall smells outside and i love the scents traditionally associated with fall-- all of the vanilla and spices and pumpkin... that warm and sweet smell that makes you think of curling up inside a soft blanket...
It's funny, but as I've grown older the seasons I enjoy most have shifted in a very chronological fashion. As a young kid I loved the newness and color of Spring, and then as I got older it turned into summer with its heat and respite and as i've grown into adulthood I've become more and more fond of the softness of fall. The colors, the clothes, the temperature- they all seem to suit me more. It makes me wonder if the next stage in my life will have me finally excited about winter.
