I really need to update my LJ theme. It's very much not springtime anymore, so the robin isn't so appropriate.

I'm home. The original plan for the period of time was to go to South Carolina with Courtney. It became apparent that I didn't have enough money, so we've decided to go to Cedar Point in the fall instead. I'm glad to have this time to relax. They actually gave me yesterday off, too, so I spend the day lounging in the pool with Courtney. When I left, I didn't think I had a sunburn, but by the time I got home Mom could tell I had a sunburn just by giving me a hug in the dark driveway. Oops. I used sunscreen! Anyway, this vacation is more about stress relief, which includes getting a couple things done that are bugging me. Mom and I shopped this afternoon for baby gifts for Calla. I got her a hanging print of The Rainbow Fish but Waldenbooks didn't have the book. Triste. Oh, and zebra striped socks. Because EVERY baby needs zebra striped socks. So fab.

Tuesday night was The Messiah Sing with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. It was an event to celebrate the 90th birthday of a beloved member. It was like a hymn sing, but with choruses from Messiah. There were three soloists, one of which was Blake. He did a fantastic job, of course. I'd never heard him sing "Every Valley", but I'd heard tons of other people sing it. He's better. ;) Each soloist did two selections. We ended with the Hallelujah chorus, after which Blake turned to me and shouted, "Merry Christmas, everybody!"

I'll probably take lots of time while I'm home to read and write. Most of the writing will be nailing down some ideas for things, so it'll be in my little idea book Blake gave me before I went to Scotland. Reading will be "Blood of the Fold".
