Since someone was somewhat interested in reading the intro to my story, I've got it below. It's only a few paragraphs, but I want honest opinions, none of this "It's good", when you're really thinking "I couldn't physically read past the third sentence otherwise my head would explode"... if you don't feel comfortable telling how you really feel on LJ, feel free to email me what you think... seriously, any criticism would be good.

And on to our "story"...

90 degrees. The thermostat on the wall has been maxed out at 90 degrees for the last five days, even though Russ suspected that the actual temperature was much closer to 110. Through the open window near his desk, Russ could feel the cool breeze trying, unsuccessfully, to neutralize the unbearable conditions that were localized to the 3rd floor of the small beige building on the corner of 5th and Bell in the city of Rivertown.

You see, five days ago, Russ tried to adjust the temperature to create a more favorable environment for his potted plant that resides in the corner by the door. The potted plant, which he named Leif, was a welcome-to-the-neighborhood gift from Lexi Robins, owner of Robins Deli across the street. Robins Deli has become a lunchtime favorite for Russ, mainly for the turkey sandwich special, but also for the company of the owner, who has just happened to eat lunch at the same time as Russ for the last 3 years.

While turning the thermostat knob, the control mechanism became stuck in the ON position, causing heat to pour out non-stop. It wasn’t until the second day that Russ eventually figured out what was happening; it isn’t common for an October day in Rivertown to reach over 75 degrees, let alone 90. That day, Russ called Tony Mead, the building owner, to get the problem fixed. However, since Tony is currently enjoying similar temperatures in the Caribbean, the issue has still not been resolved.

And be honest!!!
