Pairing: Kiba x Naruto
Description: Flowers! : )
On a side note: Did anyone else see the new Naruto Ship. Movie?
Kiba woke up next to Akamaru, in an unfamiliar bed. The sheets were a bit messy and had a stain that smelled a bit like--Kiba thought for a moment--like ramen. He sat up and noticed there was another smell in the room--Kiba took a whiff of the scent--the smell was actually coming from the other room. Kiba scratched his cheek, realizing he wasn’t even in his own house finally. He scanned the room, seeing various posters on the wall, messy floors, and ninja tools here and there. Am I in Naruto’s room? He thought.
Kiba confirmed the thought and got up, patting the sleeping Akamaru as he made his way to the door. The door was closed, but the scent behind it had a very strong smell, a very fresh and pleasing scent. He opened the bedroom door to meet a light breeze of wind carrying the scent of the entire room, which was filled with flowers and small plants. The aroma tickled his nose and the wind brushed over his skin, he felt so happy and free and began to blush and smile at the feel of all this going on at once.
And then: “KIBA!” cheered Naruto, jumping up from behind the big arrangement of white and yellow flowers, near the open window.
Akamaru barked from the bedroom and jumped at Kiba’s back, knocking him flat on his face. Kiba couldn’t stop laughing, it was a great start to the day. Akamaru walked in circles around the flower-filled room, trying to figure out what was going on. Kiba got up and hugged Naruto, “What is all this?” he asked, not caring much for the answer he would get. The overwhelming scent was amazing to him.
Naruto pulled from the hug and kept his hands at Kiba’s waist. “Don’t you remember? This time of year the Konoha gardens are overflowing with flowers, today the Flower Celebration Day.”
Kiba’s cheeks were still tinted pink from the scent of the flowers, but the Inuzuka markings covered most of it up. “I- I guess I don’t remember.” he rubbed the back of his head.
The Flower Celebration Day was typically a day when one of the two in a couple would go to the Gardens of Konoha and pick flowers for their lover, a day when kids and their families and friends would go out to the hills that were overgrown with flowers, a day that Kiba couldn’t really celebrate. Tsume wasn’t one for flowers, he didn’t know his father, and Hana was rarely home any more due to her newer missions. The one time Kiba did decide to celebrate this day was when he was younger, and would go out with Hana. That was when he didn’t have Akamaru, since then he pretty much brushed it off since his family didn’t celebrate it very often.
Naruto was blushing now too, “You know Kiba, on our date yesterday…I didn’t think I would like being with you, I thought we would argue all the time. I mean, considering we almost always do that on missions anyways.”
Kiba began to blush a bit harder now.
“And,” Naruto continued, “this is only my second day with you now, hardly that, and I’m…I mean, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you. Before I fell to sleep last night, I remembered today was a holiday, I made sure I woke up early to get the best flowers I could.”
Kiba was totally speechless. He kept trying to form a response, but he just couldn’t speak. Kiba just kept staring into Naruto’s eyes, and Naruto did the same, probably expecting a response. Kiba imagined the whole scene in his head, he’d say he didn’t know what to say, and Naruto would reply by hugging him. But no, that wasn’t how it ended up. Kiba couldn’t even form those words. Instead, he grabbed Naruto’s arms and pulled him close, then began to kiss him.
To Kiba it felt like the flowers just put the two in a genjutsu, not one meant for harm or battle, but one meant for love and peace. It felt all the wind in the world was blowing in a large cyclone around them, only allowing soft and gently gusts to brush by them. And then, as Kiba pulled his face from Naruto’s, the mesmerizing wind gently calmed down.
Naruto smiled, then stumbled a little bit.
Kiba caught him before he could fall, then nearly tripped over his own leg.
The two recovered from the stumble and sat down on the navy blue couch, Kiba set his head down on Naruto’s arm and closed his eyes.
Naruto took a faded yellow flower from the vase near them and brought it down to Kiba’s nose.
Kiba, as a result, began blushing from the smell. His enhanced sense of smell made everything much better, that is, if it wasn’t something with a bad scent, then it would be worse. He opened his eyes and took the flower from Naruto, twirling it in his fingers.
Naruto smiled, “Wanna go out Kiba? I have a few flowers to give to everyone else. Sai and Sakura, Kakashi-sensei, and all the rest of our friends.”
Kiba smiled, “Sure.”
Naruto gave a reassuring smile to Kiba, he was well aware Kiba would still be nervous around their friends. He got up, Kiba followed, and the two walked out hand-in-hand. “Come on, Akamaru!”
The large, white and furry dog replied with a loud bark, then ran out after them.
-
“Thanks, Naruto.” said a low, seemingly emotionless voice. He was pale and wearing black casual clothes.
“You bet, Sai!” Naruto cheered.
“Do best friends hold hands?” Sai asked.
Kiba blushed, but kept his hand tightly in Naruto’s.
“Well, actually-”
“Naruto!” called a familiar voice.
“Sakura!” Naruto yelled back, waving to his teammate.
The pink-haired girl came running up to the three, handing Naruto and Sai a flower, then another one to Kiba. “Hmm? What’s this?” Sakura asked, her voice playful. “How cute!”
Kiba began blushing again, “N-Naruto…”
Naruto was blushing a bit too, “We, um…” It was easy for Naruto to say it in front of Kurenai and Asuma, but he was having trouble telling someone he was close friends with. He sighed, “Yes, Sakura, it’s what it looks like.” he smiled.
Sakura seemed a bit surprised, she was expecting to be able to play around with the topic for a while and poke fun at the two. So instead, she smiled, “I’m glad for you two, but I must say, I didn’t expect either of you to be gay.”
Kiba was still blushing. He certainly expected someone like Sakura to come right out with her opinion, but at least it wasn’t a bad opinion.
Sai looked confused, “I don’t quite understand. Do friends always hold hands?”
“Oh, Sakura, here.” Naruto handed Sakura a pink flower, it looked like a carnation.
“Thanks Naruto!” she hugged him, “Sorry to leave so quickly, but I’d like to give everyone their flowers before lunch.”
Kiba nodded, he didn’t seem to be too nervous anymore, “Cya Sakura, sorry I didn’t have a flower for you.”
“See ya later Sakura-chan.”
Sakura left, waving goodbye.
“Let’s get going too, Kiba.” Naruto said, pulling Kiba with him.
“Ah, um, Naruto? What about my question?” Sai asked, a bit late, neither Naruto or Kiba heard him. “Maybe I can find a book.”
-
Naruto handed a flower to Ino, Kiba did too. She didn’t look very happy.
“Are you two…holding hands? W-why?” Ino asked, kind of freaked out.
Kiba blushed, but seemed a bit more angry than embarrassed. “Yeah, w-we’re holding hands.” Kiba said. His words were mixed with stutters, slips, and anger. He was good friends with Ino, but this side of her really put him on the bad side.
Naruto didn’t really expect this from Ino, but could tell Kiba was ready to do all the talking.
“Two men shouldn’t hold hands, let alone be together.” she said, crossing her arms.
“And why do you think you get to decide how other will run their lives?” Kiba asked. Akamaru barked.
“I don’t think I can. But it’s totally unnatural, let go of his hand or I’ll make you.”
“You can’t make me do anything. I shouldn’t have thought about giving you a flower, especially after you nearly ruining my friends personality completely!” Kiba was angry now. “Naruto, let’s leave.”
Naruto just let Kiba guide him out, they nearly bumped into Hinata and Shino on the way.
“Oh no you don’t. Mind Transfer Jutsu!” Ino shouted quietly, aiming her hands towards Kiba. With a ring she fell to the floor.
Kiba’s hand slipped out of Naruto’s and slapped Naruto across the face, leaving a bright red mark.
“K-Kiba?” Naruto asked, “What was that for?” he looked betrayed.
Hinata was starting, hand over mouth. Shino was watching quietly.
Akamaru seemed as if he wanted to bite Kiba, but held back. Akamaru had grown close to Naruto, way before Kiba had ever asked Naruto out. He started growling.
“Shut up, mutt.” Kiba said. He was about to kick Naruto when he grabbed his forehead and fell to the ground. He pulled Naruto up, “Ino.”
Hinata ran up to Naruto, “N-Naruto-kun, are you ok?”
Shino still watched.
Kiba kissed Naruto on the cheek, which Hinata stared at in disbelief, and walked over to Ino, very angrily.
“Ino! Why the hell did you do that?!” he shouted at her.
“Stay away from me!” Ino shouted, she crumpled a ‘Wanted: Minene Uryu’ flyer from the shop wall and threw it at Kiba.
“What did you plan to do with paper?” he asked, “It’s not like I’m going to hurt you anyways.” Kiba replied, but he grabbed her arm. “Don’t ever do that to me again. I would never hurt Naruto.” Kiba said, fiercely.
Ino crossed her arms and walked into room behind the shop, meeting her angry father.
“That wasn’t very nice, Ino.” he could be heard saying as the two walked inside.
“Are you alright, Hinata?” Shino said.
Hinata barely managed a nod, she was still staring at the air where Kiba had kissed Naruto.
Kiba finally realized that he might’ve hurt Hinata. “Look, Hinata…” he rubbed the back of his head. “I-I…I’m sorry, I know you like Naruto-kun. I mean, I’m sorry I took him from you.”
Hinata looked as if she was going to start crying, but she managed another nod in. She looked down as it began to rain. “I’m going home, Shino, Naruto…Kiba.” she seemed kind of angry and sad, but she walked off rather casually.
Kiba looked at Shino.
Shino put his hand on Kiba’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. She’ll be fine. She’s liked Naruto since she’s met him, even you know that. But Neji will be able to talk some sense into her, she’ll recover soon.”
Kiba just nodded, Naruto seemed a bit sorry about it too, but the two took each others hands again.
“Here, Shino.” Naruto said, handing him a small white rose. “Give this one to Hinata, if you could.” he said, handing him a light blue daisy.
Shino nodded, then left.
Kiba and Naruto kissed, then walked off. Kiba stepped on the flyer Ino had thrown at him, flattening it out a bit. Neither of them noticed it, but what was visible read: ‘…escaped…Minen…Ury…..ro……..ni…be…are…’
The rain poured harder, lightning thundered, and a figure in a dress appeared near the crumpled paper. She uncrumpled it, laughed a bit, then walked into the Yamanaka Flower Shop.
