Myshuno! Prompt: Out of time (100 words)

Oct 20, 2011 22:07

The prompt for this story was “Out of time,” submitted by nialyind. This story fits into Chapter 25 of Already in Progress.

This may not be what the prompter intended, but minutes are a unit of time, so I’m sticking by it. Also, the story is a true drabble: precisely 100 words - no more, no less. (Plus an additional 15 word allowance for the title.) Just because I thought it would be fun to try. :)

Suitable for all ages.

SARAH JANE: Timmy, I’m out of minutes.
TIMOTHY: It’s the tenth. You get five thousand minutes a month.
SARAH JANE: Ridiculous, right? How am I supposed to manage on five thousand minutes a month? I’m canceling the cell phone.
TIMOTHY: Shouldn’t we just switch to unlimited minutes?
SARAH JANE: No, those plans cost too much. A landline is cheaper.
TIMOTHY: Your parents were loaded. We don’t need to scrimp.
SARAH JANE: My parents were rich. I’m a costume designer married to a philosopher. (kisses Tim) I wouldn’t change a thing about my life. But we’re not good at making money.

drabble, timothy, myshuno!, sarah jane
